I've long since unstanned Rowling but I'm still excited for FB3 for extremely personal reasons
Also lego said "hogwarts christmas rights" two years in a row and I'm regretting the fact that I am currently broke

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh why is writing so difficult? Why are none of these characters coming to me? Is this project even worth retooling? Everyone feels the same and this is the first time that's happened to me with characters and ugh maybe I'll can this one for good

I do not know her but I trust her with my life

TEA. I'd like to say that I've never done that, even authors whose works I adore or books with concepts I love can still disappoint me. Case in point, Foul Is Fair and C-daver And Q*een

I stan no one except maybe Tolkein because he is probably the closest I have to an idol.

I stan Lemony Snicket and solely him. Not even Daniel Handler. I don't like his writing style as himself

Even my favorite authors have books I dislike, or like slightly less
I really love E.K. Johnston's Star Wars books, but I've never been able to get into her other writing
She's very character-driven and slow-paced and her books tend to be pretty short, and I don't like short character-study type books unless I already know the cast.

I never read her Obi-Wan and Anakin books, but when I was younger I got a bunch of her Jedi Apprentice ones from a garage sale (finally completed the full set this year!)
I have a lot of nostalgia for the Jedi Apprentice books, even though I don't think I ever read all of them, and while they're not nearly as good as Claudia Gray's Master and Apprentice, they're a good (and fairly canon-compliant) look at Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan
Some parts definitely feel really kiddy, and the plots can be out there, but I do love them
My favorites were The Day of Reckoning and The Captive Temple.

Also if anyone is interested in New Canon Star Wars books or tbh any books in general hmu, I can point you to some good ones.
