What's the big hype about boy bands?

First of all, P!ATD is only one person officially so technically not even a band
Second of all, boybands belong to a whole other genre and while they might make the music they're singing to themselves most of the time it's a group with vocals with or without rappers, while P!ATD, FOB and MCR make or made all their music with instruments they play(ed) themselves

May I add that P!ATD has a song in Pray For The Wicked, The broadway musical.

Listen, I'm sorry. I realize that everyone has different tastes in music, but honestly I really hate fast paced music. I can't explain why, you'd only laugh and say I was stupid. But just saying, I'm really not trying to offend anyone here, I just wanted to know what you like so much about those bands and why people thought they were good.
