I'm in the sixth grader's pixie stick black market. Basically you trade/pay for things from someone who got it from someone who got it from somewhere if that makes sense

For me, don't ask how I'm a part of the black market, it's a lot of trading, like Mezzo said, however, you must watch your back at every turn, don't take out your phone at all while in the black market.
I know this is kinda old, but is this modern - like phones and tech stuff, fantasy - like "dragon eggs" or something? Or something else, like old, but illegally trading (I dunno) gold or stuff like that?
Aside from having connections in every corner, being "king" of the black market means dealing in things not everyone would have. Sure, you can get drugs, weapons, prostitutes, hit-men, and mail-order brides from anyone on the black market, but can you find (insert extremely rare and/or valuable object or information here)? The one on top does the most business in the most fields and has the least amount of competition. Either you simply can't get what he has or he's made it so that no one can get what he has.
