I have this race in my world who take a lot of pride in their hair and let it grow so long that it brushes against the ground (not so far fetched when you know that the average height is below 5 feet). This is also problematic because this particular race is war-faring and very hands-on.
So I was thinking, how would they avoid an enemy grabbing their hair?
Well another thing about this race is that sky magic comes naturally to them so air, storms etc. So now, canonically, warriors go through the ritual of enchanting their hair so that when someone grabs it in battle it gives the enemy an electrical shock.
