Sorry it took me so long to get to this. I honestly didn't think that anyone would reply.
Anyway, I think you're universe sounds pretty unique. In fact, I don't think that I've read any fantasy books that involved steampunk before, though I know they have to be out there somewhere.
One thing that really interests me in books is the magic system, but you didn't have much information on this. Yes, you said who had magic, but you didn't say what you can do with the magic, and how you use it.
