"Hey- Caroline," Brad started, coming up and gently wrapping his arms around her waist. Pressed up against her, she would be able to feel his own racing heart. "Shh, just relax. We can figure this out."
Does anyone want to help me write a story
"What's happening to us " she cried out
"Shh, Caroline. I don't know what's going on, but I know you need to relax." Brad whispered, resting his chin on her shoulder. Gently he rubbed up and down her arm to try and soothe her. Though he didn't think it was working great.
"I'm scared" she whispered
"I know, darling. But there has to be some logical explanation to this. Maggie is pretty good in the medical department, should we call her to figure out what's going on?" He asked her in a gentle tone, still rubbing her arm. He was trying to be as gentle as possibly, but her felt that was more of a challenge than usual.
She shook her head " Maggie doesn't know everything I know you guys are like best friends " she said since she woke up she had been emotional all emotions had been heightened
Which was going to make things even worse for Brad. He already had a hard time trying not to upset her, so with her heightened emotions, he was starting to grow nervous. "I know she doesn't know everything. But she could be a good place to start. If she can't help, we figure out what to do from then. Can we at least try that?"
"you try that" she said "I have a cookout to be at" she said
"Do you really think you should be going to events, in this state?" Brad asked her softly, holding on to her. "Can't you say you're not feeling well?"
" and let your parents hate me even more" she said
"Wait- that's today?" Brad asked, pulling back with wide eyes. "I completely forgot! But… I thought it was for dinner. It's currently five in the morning. We've got literal hours until we're suppose to be there."
"I'm supposed to help" she said quietly
"I- can't… can't you tell Taylor we've got a little bit of a bigger problem right now?" Brad asked her, looking up at her face. "Because I'm afraid I might have gotten a concussion or something. I keep spacing- and it's worrying me. And then you, with whatever is going on, it doesn't seem safe to do anything until we figure things out."
" your family already hates me I'm not missing this you can maybe your dad will push me this time" she said
"My family doesn't hate you, my dad just isn't a big fan of you. And he won't push you. It was an accident the last time, Caroline." Brad insisted in a soft tone, still holding on to her. "Please, Taylor isn't even going to be up yet. He isn't one for early mornings."
" I just need to go" she said
"You don't, though. You need to stay with me, and try to figure it out. We've got some time. We'll figure this out, and then go to Taylor's apartment. I'll be there to help." He insisted in a soft tone, leading her over to the bed.
She layed down on the bed and stared at the ceiling for a moment before she started to cry
When he started to cry, Brad began to panic. "Hey- babe… what's wrong? Can I fix it?" He asked her in a gentle tone, sitting besides her. When he did, he gently started to pet up and down her leg. "Is this really about going to help Taylor? If it really bugs you this bad… I- I mean I guess we can go."
She cried harder curling her legs into a ball
"Hey- babe…" Brad whispered, gently petting her back instead. He really didn't know what to do. His mind was racing, and his usual senses seemed totally shifted.
" everything is so loud and so bright I'm so cold I don't feel safe" she said
His brow dropped, and he took in a deep breath. "Caroline, it's dark in here. All the lights are off… the only sound is you and me… I really think we need to go see Maggie. Or someone at least." Brad insisted, grabbing a spare blanket and tossing it over her.
"No one can help us " she said crying "I'm a monster"
"Caroline, darling. You're not a monster." He whispered under his breath, pulling her closer to himself. "Something is wrong, yes. But it isn't making you a monster."
She sniffled "So you still love me?" She asked
"Of course I do. I want to help you." Brad whispered, petting the top of her head. "Why would I stop loving you?"
She shrugged "I-I had a nightmare last night and I guess this morning isn't helping" she said
"Babe… why didn't you wake me up? I would have waken up to comfort you." He whispered in a soft tone, running his fingers through her hair.
"It was so real I was so scared it was" she said
