pls help ive never kissed anyone before i dont know how to write a kiss scene 😭😭 for context, the scene takes place on the Fourth of July; the two characters are sitting on the roof of a truck, watching the fireworks, when one realizes they like the other and kisses them. i have all the buildup to it, i just dont know how to write the actual kissing part. help??? pls ??? anyone ??

Second, there are quite a few things to consider! It's pretty easy to just go "They kiss them on the lips" but there is so much more to consider so lemme make a list!
Also, when describing a kiss, don't do the Wattpad "Their tongues battled for dominance" thing XD! You can describe the softness of the other person's lips. You can describe their heart pounding since this seems to be a first kiss situation. Also describe body language too! Does the target person lean in? Do they tense up before relaxing? If it's an intense kiss, describe their breathlessness and craving for more.
The eyes are also the window to the soul. Are their eyes wide open? Closed? Or are they on the verge of tears?
And for some extra personality consider this: Is this their first time kissing someone? Is this the other person's first time kissing someone, too? Have these two known each other for a while or are they still kinda strangers to each other?

Retr0 covered it well, but also think about little awkward things. Do they bump noses? Does someone pull away first? Are there little involuntary noises happening?
Another thing to think about is what happens immediately after. Blushing? Speechless-ness? Little nervous habits like rubbing the back of their neck or giggling?
And for sure, don't do the Wattpad thing, but it is ok to have a person who maybe hasn't kissed before suddenly be overwhelmed by details. Do they notice any particular tastes from the lips? Are a person's lips chapped, maybe? Pressure is a factor; some people like soft little kisses, and other people try to touch teeth. Do they hold their breath, or is there the loud sound of someone breathing through their nose? Small details can make a scene come alive, and keeping the wording simple will help you avoid the Wattpad feel.

(I don't know if you still need help, but in case anyone else does I might just post this anyway) I usually think about the build-up, and then the afterthought first. Sometimes it can be exciting to skip the actual action, per-say, "and I kiss ___." (obviously a bit more descriptive, but you get the idea haha) and kind of focus on small, little thoughts and physical feelings before the interaction, then the difference to how they felt after it had happened (compare and contrast? I don't know, possibly).
Did they consciously think about the action, or was it a building feeling between one or both of them that led up to the kiss? Or was it more planned, as you might see with a more socially awkward or cautious character. If the character had kissed before, try to show how they felt differently than past experience(s).
What happened after? Keep in mind, it can be endearing and sometimes relatable for an awkward silence afterward. (dang went on a tangent there)
