I have a question....

Hello.
I was writing my story, and after critiques from people, I decided to edit my prologue, and wondered if I needed to change my earlier chapters too, since they were more of a rough draft. But I'm wondering if I should:

Edit all my chapters and polish them up to where I'm at (around chapter 19)

-Or-

Keep writing to progress the plot past chapter 19 for the sake of getting the plot more defined.

I'm just not sure what to do, and I was wondering if anyone had some opinion on this.

In my opinion, I would finish the rough draft first, like you said it's a rough draft, get the plot down from beginning to end and once that's finished then go back and fill the gaps and fix the errors. I have no idea how many times I had been told that when I first began writing, naturally, being young and inexperienced I did the complete opposite and it took me years to get absolute nowhere, and sadly, because of that, I dropped the book.

I was also thinking about the things that I thought of midway through writing, and having it absent from previous chapters might affect later ones or might make people think "this doesn't make sense" or something of the sort.
But maybe I think writing it all the way through is the solution.
