Old explosion methods

I have a character in my story who's "hobby" is just demolition and fire. The main character spends a lot of time with her, so any references for how bombs are built, what's flammable, fireworks, as long as it fits with around the victorian era, it'll be good to have!

I was about to just Google "how to make a primitive bomb" and then I psyched myself out with thoughts of getting arrested by the FBI. XD

Well I read a book where the author looked it up for me. It was a book set back before the bombs we know were invented, of course. I shall find that place in the book and get back to ya.
