Because no one understands how to show that a person is considered beautiful in their society's standards, so they settle for making the character beautiful by our society's standards.

And instead of having a character be beautiful outside of what our society generally says, they're a petite blonde haired blue eyed girl who's thin but with big boobs, and it's annoying to see the same base model everywhere. I know in my fae courts, the fae do look human (because humans don't trust things that aren't like them so it's a survival mechanism) but are generally all pretty tall, strong, and have different skin tones and hair colors, etc.

Yeah, there are so many ways you can easily make differences (and use to identify females) between aliens in terms of genders. Different colouring, sizes, features, etc, etc. One of my species has the male with a more club like tail while the female’s is sharper, and they’re darker, too.

Also when creating aliens..don’t be afraid to get creative with making them! I have a species based off of fungi, a species based off of jellyfish, etc etc.

I do have appreciation though when people make reptilian aliens and don’t give them boobs.

Same. Like, biology people. Breasts are meant for feeding babies but nooo they are on anything supposed to be attracted because we live in a world that thinks sexualizing females is necessary in everything!

Rant over Lol.

All I can think of is that one post where it's like "she breasted boobily to the stairs and titted downwards"

Unfortunately yes

@Relsey-TheElder

Some times I just want to shove a Biology text book under an authors face and force them to read.

book

I get it.

Nobody:
Literally no one at all:
Male AuthorsTM (you know the type): "She stood up, her large breasts hanging freely under her skirt, unhindered by a bra. She took a step and they moved seductively."

book

That image is so wrong.

group
@Becfromthedead group

Wait is that actually supposed to say skirt or is it a typo of shirt? Because that makes a big difference.

book

Indeed.

@Kinarymo

"her large breasts hanging freely under her skirt" - i cannot unsee this

That sentence alone makes me imagine an ancient lady :'))

Imagine if women actually saw themselves the way men wrote/see them
Like, instead of thinking "I'm getting up to get a glass of water" it's like, "my breasts are being hugged tightly to my ribcage by a bra, creating an attractive cleavage. As I sophisticatedly sip the water, a bit dribbles down my cheek sexily. I charmingly wipe it away with the back of my hand, giggling seductively. Did I mention, breasts?"

Anyways, I just don't get why male authors think women spend so much time thinking about our boobs? The only time I'll think about them is if my bra is uncomfortable.

Same.
They're really nothing… 'Special.'

@Kinarymo

The other time you think about your boobs is when you run or jump, and need to hold on to them before they take off - so uncomfortable

@The-N-U-T-Cracker

Or when it's the middle of summer and they're sweaty as heck which just makes things even more uncomfortable

And when you're just trying to sleep but they decide to make it physically impossible to find a comfortable sleeping position

Have I mentioned before that I really don't like them

group
@Becfromthedead group

Some of us don’t even have those problems though. Boobs aren’t even worth mentioning in most cases.

Yeah, it's just a way to sexualize female characters. I don't notice someone's boobs when I see them. Like, ever.

sPEAKING OF BOOBS
I don't know I just wanted to say that

book

Cause they do and they see the world in one big self reflecting generalization.
