The Levanesse kingdom's court is divided by five families: the Albigny, Duranas, Andilli, Mossmour, and Vellot. Albigny is of course the royal family while Duranas has been trying to steal the throne for two hundred years. After years and years of trying, the Duranas family may finally have a chance of taking the throne.

Rumors about the king's sexuality have been going around even before he took the throne. They became so prominent that his father had arranged a marriage with a princess from a neighboring kingdom the second his son turned eighteen. While it wasn't love at first sight, the soon-to-be king and queen got along. After Muse A became king, him and the queen had two daughters and one son. Despite being married to Her Majesty, the king still had attractions to men, but there were little rumors.

This would all change when Her Majesty would fall ill and pass away. His Majesty (Muse A) would become devastated. For a month, he was inside his chambers. While most had moved on, he didn't. The royal council hadn't met since last autumn before the queen fell ill and now it is the middle of spring. While other members on the court are either worried or going about their lives, there is one person (or rather two people) who want to take advantage of the situation.

Muse B is the second son in the Duranas family and currently a tutor for the king's children. His father Lord Alain Duranas, despite being from the opposing family, is one of the most powerful advisors on the king's court. Ever since he finished his studies, Muse B knew that he wanted his father's position, but he knows that his father would give it to one of his older brothers who could care less. However, Lord Duranas gave MuseB a proposition: if he gets the king to fall in love with him and make His Majesty a puppet, then he will give Muse B his position when he passes on.

What seemed like an easy job for Muse B would soon put both him and Muse A into trouble. Both fall for each other while power and rivalry hang over them. Secrets that bind them together may tear them apart.

Rules/Notes

  • All of these names are subject to change. Depending on who your character is (I don't have a preference), you can either keep or change the family name. Whatever works for you works for me.
  • FYI: The kingdom, Levanesse, takes inspiration from France and Spain. I was thinking this rp could take place in the 1700s or 1800s.
  • This is a romance rp, but we will have things fade to black when it comes to the sexy times.
  • Experienced rpers only
  • At least one paragraph response with good grammar and spelling
  • Please try to respond at least once per day. My response times will vary, but I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible.

Name: Claude Mateo Duranas
Title: Sir Duranas

Gender: Cis-male (he/him)
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance: Claude is a relatively man with a muscular build and a medium tan complexion. He stands roughly around 5'8". Claude has sharp features along with a well defined jawline and strong nose and cheeks. His eyes are hooded shape. The irises are sky blue. His dark, thick eyelashes and eyebrows give him a sultry, typically handsome appearance. Claude has dark black hair with soft curls and waves. It is long and pushed back, going down just below his ears. However, he is rarely seen outside of his chambers without his hair up in a ponytail or man bun.
Personality: Every Duranas is power hungry, but Claude wants to turn the royal court 180 degrees for the sake of the people. His resting stone-cold expression often makes him look like he could care less for others, but that isn't the case. He enjoys being around others despite often being silent. Even if he's only with one other person (which he prefers more), he'll keep quiet when he can. Claude cares more about other people than he does with himself. It is easier for him to be invested in other's feelings and issues. If he ever has to face an issue, he does so alone. He is his father's son, and he is determined to see things through.
Likes/Dislikes: Likes writing, literature, sparring, and wandering around the palace at night. Dislikes closed spaces, being vulnerable, dancing, and the rain.
Background: Claude is the third son but the youngest of five children in Lord Alain Duranas's family. While he may be part of the second most powerful family in the kingdom, he had a pretty rough start in life. For the first seven years of life, Claude was bedridden with an unknown illness. No one really knew what he had, but he always had said with his nanny and tutor looking after him, he had gotten better. From that time he knew he wanted to become a scholar or some sort of teacher. However, his father had another plan for him. When Claude was seventeen, Lord Duranas had enlisted his son into the royal military academy. He spent three years in the military before getting the chance to leave and enroll in university. Of course his father disapproved of it, but the old lord took advantage of this by making his youngest son the tutor for the king's children. No matter how hard Claude tried to avoid it, he was another weapon at his father's disposal.

Name: Adrien Matthieu Albigny

Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bicurious
Appearance: Adrien has auburn hair, that is closer to a light brown with red highlights. It's long, reaching towards the small of his back. He usually keeps it in a half up/half down style or in a braid. His eyes are a bright blue mixed with greens to almost appear like a moving sea, quite stunning. He has freckles all over his body, but they're particularly thick along his cheeks and his shoulders. He has a scar over his heart from an assassination attempt that failed, and quite a few others, but he doesn't seem fond of recalling how he got them. He has a more slender build, with soft curves and reaches the height of 5'11. He's stunningly beautiful in almost a gender neutral way. He seems very comfortable in his appearance.
Personality: Adrien is a soft spoken man. Understanding, kind, open. He's supposedly easy to read. Yet- it almost appears as if there is a mask. There is a reason he took the throne and not his brother. Adrien is a good person, he stands up for his people, he's incredibly diplomatic, he has a way with words that help people feel safe. He's not one to throw crazy expensive parties and whatnot. He was well known to be a wonderful husband, a loving father, but all of that seemed to shatter to leave a hull of a man after the loss of his wife.
Likes/Dislikes: His children, tea, novels of any kind, poetry, music, animals (especially dogs), star gazing. Dislikes: Large social gatherings, people doubting his strength, the heat, spiders.
Background: Adrien took over the throne at the ripe age of 18 and got married at the ripe age of 19. He grew up learning from his mother, and his older brother gave up the throne under mysterious circumstances. He gained the title of crown prince, and married his wife, Carmilla. He had known her as a child, and with the rumors going around his parents thought it best to put an end to those rumors and marry him off to his childhood best friend. They were highly compatible. She was a spitfire of a woman, while he was surprisingly more tame. They ruled with amazing power, and by the time he was 23, they had 3 beautiful children. He doesn't tend to talk about his childhood, and for fair reason. But it's clear that he is the polar opposite of his father, and intends to keep it that way.

The Twins

  • Maggie, and Robyn. 5 years of age. Maggie, the elder twin, takes after her father with fire red hair, and big blue eyes. She's strong, even for her age. Tends to solve issues with her fists. Robyn, takes after his mother completely, raven black hair, stormy grey eyes. He's a mix of his two sisters. Diplomatic, but strong willed.
