a monster in england/the vampire club (needs two people EDIT I am one of those two)

Allow me to get this out of the way. This RP relies on a light knowledge of classic and more specifically a lot of gothic literature. You don't need a complete knowledge of every event in the books I'm going to be referencing here. But for the love, please have a understanding of the sparknotes summary.

I will be playing all characters except for yours. You get to have as many creative liberties as you like with this to a degree.

Your character is a wealthy noble with two sisters, one who ran away and disappeared one day and one who married and disappeared that way. They live a comfortable life, a rich life. But when some family friends show up on their doorstep, they start to step out of their comfort zone as mystery unravels around them. And there's a monster, too. There's always monsters.

Smut isn't really gonna be a thing here, beyond references but some of those references will refer to the less than consensual stuff. There will be NOTHING explicit here but characters are gonna have the DeepTM conversations. Violence and gore are going to happen, but not to a severe extent unless you're okay with that. And lastly, swearing is fine. Slurs, despite some of them being unfortunately time period accurate, are not. I'm sure you can come up with derogatory substitutions if you really feel the need for your character to be a racist/sexist/queerphobic/etc asshole, or at least as they would be for the standards of the time. This takes place in the Victorian Era btw.

(I didn't specifically plan on a romance between your character and one of mine, but I could make it work? It would probably help for your character to be bi/pan because I have a lot of gender variance here, and I'd like to explore character dynamics before settling on a specific romance. Most of my characters are bi/pan also. So uhh basically idk? Anyways, if you really want romance I'll find a character to pair with yours, otherwise just get your character up. I'd prefer your character be over the age of 20.)

Personality: quiet, he keeps to himself and once given affection he tends to protect the person with his life. Although he's tudy qt some times he can be a real love bug. He's not the type to take shit from anyone but he's not stuck up about it either. Haze is a real dick when you mention his missing family as he's still very fragile about it.
Backstory (optional): Part that we do know is that his family has been torn apart by his sisters going missing. Though haze has never forgiven himself for letting his sisters go. He blames himself for the whole thing
Occupation (what do they do that earns them money, or loses them money idk?): astronomer, he's the one who's figuring out the stars, going to meetings to discuss what he's seen.

Orientation: Very bi, mostly in the direction of his childhood best friend Henry Clerval (below)
Appearance: Thin as a rake, short, and prone to fainting spells. Pale, a little jaundiced, with sunken in eyes and bags under those eyes thiccer than a gucci purse (Orion says, knowing nothing about designer brands other than exponsive). Victor has a long, ski-slope nose, thin pale lips, and blue eyes that stand in stark contrast to his night black hair that while once short hangs long and unkempt around his face. He looks a lil like an anime villain basically, imagine somethin like a twink unhealthy just very sad little man Aizawa from My Hero Academia, also forget I said that I don't want the weebs to know I watch their shit.
Personality: A sad little poor little meow meow of a man. I want to take him inside and give him a dish of warm milk and place him in a pile of blankets in front of the fire. A bit of a feral cat type personality, hissy at people he doesn't like, nice to people he does.

Appearance: Tall, a lil chubby, with a warm sand skintone and wide brown, oaky eyes. Freckles, a wide nose, and wavy darker strawberry blonde hair. He's like that strawberry cow meme. Literally so pure and wholesome, prepare for the angst buddy.
Personality: Just a chill dude, funky lil man. Literally just sitting there. Just along for the ride.
Backstory (optional): Again, needs plot time to exposit.
Occupation (what do they do that earns them money, or loses them money idk?): His father is a merchant, and he plans to follow in his footsteps.

Victor's hands wouldn't stop shaking. After his creation had nearly killed Henry, his whole body had taken weeks to calm down. Now, they were hiding in a bar in England, owned by a family friend who had graciously taken them in. He sighed, laid down on the cot provided in the back room they were staying in. Henry was out in the crowd, happy as can be an seemingly unaware the whole ordeal that brought them here had passed. Victor… should have created the bride for his monster. Should have let himself bend to the whims of the being that called itself "master" over him. But no. It couldn't be. If he created another monster, even without a way to reproduce as he'd planned out in the first bride, they'd soon find a way, if even simply creating more monsters themselves. The idea of it shook him to his core. Why he'd agreed in the first place shocked him. Henry still had the bruises from the fight with the monster, imprints of beastly hands temporarily engraved on his neck. And Victor didn't know how to handle it. He sighed, turned over onto his side, and stared out the window into the alleyway. This was not good. He needed to fix this, before his monster went after the rest of his family.

Haze, known just about everywhere for his family matters, walked into the bar. He was lost without his sisters and now he was ready to forget it all. As he sat down he looked around. Men were dancing and having fun and yet no one cared that two women had just up and gone missing with no trace, no lead, no clues no nothing.
Haze sighed as his drink was passed to him, downing it in a moment.

While Victor was moping, Henry was trying to drown away the worry with alcohol and interesting stories. "And that was when I told Victor-the sad sack in the back-that he had to back down, or down he would go! Ah, childhood. Well, that ends the stories I have to tell about our quarrels! I-" but then he noticed Haze. How could he not? The man was beautiful, in a strange way, and scarred in a way that was less monstrous-god, he'd seen enough of monsters-and more disheveled, but cute in a dangerous way. He was compelled to walk over. "Excuse me gentlemen, I will return soon." he said, approaching the man before him in a tentative way, so as not to startle.

Haze looked over at the man out the corner of his eye “might I help you?” he asked softly when the new man sat down “ you seem quite the adventure from your stories.” he mentioned. Haze's silver eyes glowed from candlelight l, making him look almost ethereal or unreal. His mother had sworn he was born with the power to catch the eye, but she never believe her. Now he watched as the man beside him talked with honey in his tone to men who only stared and gawked at someone they could never me like

"You seem like you have a story to tell. I'm just as good a listener as a talker, believe me. Victor has spent many an evening telling me about his alchemic pursuits after all. Not as if you'd much care, I'm sure." he said, inviting himself to sit down by this mystery man. "Henry, of the Clerval clan. And you are?" he chuckled, offering a hand to shake.

Haze shook the man's hand “ haze satein,” he said. He noticed the man's rough hands and unknowingly smiled slightly. “ working man are you?” he asked, noting Henry's gaze “ fancy something about me? Or is it the lights”

"Hmm. I'd say it's the lights. And yes. My father is a merchant, and I used to help on his travels. As well as, I've always had a passion for the outdoors." he said, in the background Victor rose and stumbled to his feet. He wanted to know why Henry was taking so long to come back to their room, and when he saw him with another man, he was close to furious. Close to. He took a shaky breath to keep the outrage from bubbling to the surface, and padded softly forward, placing a hand on Henry to steady himself when he reached the man.

"Ah, Victor! You finally decided to join us! This is my new friend, Haze Satein. A respectable gentleman, I'm sure. And this is Victor Frankenstein, lover of science. I swear, he's married to the concept!"

“ wow, you seem pretty set up here,” he said and chuckled, taking another swig. “ so victor, what exactly do you pursue in science? Myself, I study the stars, map them and only dream of joining them. I've got some family up there id give anything to see. “

Victor looked away. He and Henry knew why they couldn't answer that question. The ghosts were getting louder, the ghosts of family loved and lost. He shook, and fell onto Henry, the larger man holding Victor close-platonically as far as Victor knew, but Henry enjoyed their time together close as long as it would last, as oblivious as the man he'd loved for years was. "He was to be a doctor actually, but my Victor has always loved alchemy."
