The knock made Lyra groan, thinking it was another druid or warlock coming to sell her something, "For the last time I don't want your mushrooms, fungi or any plant of the sort. If I wanted to buy some I'd get it off of Arindia-" She stopped when she opened the door, ".com…" She trailed off at the sight of.. Ky, yeah, the detective at her doorstep.

"Your music is giving me a headache could you please-." Ky opened his eyes, keeping his hand on his head. It's that girl. He sighed and dropped his hand to his side. "I'm trying to think, so I'd appreciate it if you could turn down your music." Ky got a glimpse inside her house and saw many things a witch would own. A witch huh? He wasn't too surprised, she seemed like she was human. Or at least full human.

Lyra sighed and shrugged, narrowing her eyes when he noticed him looking at her things, “If you want a closer look at my things you could just ask and not stare. And I don’t care if you’re trying to think, I’m trying to chill and my music is helping,”
She huffed, crossing her arms. A deep laugh was heard behind them and Lyra turned slightly to glare at her cat.

"Yes, well my job is actually helping society," he looked at her things once again, "I don't have time to sit around and play with magic. So if you don't turn it down, I'd have to warn you, I'm extremely close with the police department." He showed her a fake smile. "Have a nice day." He was going to walk off, that was until he saw a note on her door step. He bent over and picked it up. "This seems to be for you." Agter that is when he walked to the house next door and closed the door behind him.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra flipped him off as he left, glaring at the door and retreating back inside her own home, note in hand, “Close with the police department whatever asshole…” She mumbled, flopping down on the couch again. She did turn her music down a little, though before turning her attention to the note.

@Fantasy-Illy!

(The figured the note could say something like "you're next." Just so she gets wrapped up somehow.)
Ky was thankful she turned down her music. When he could think again, he went to his drawing board. Who could it be? Looking through all his pictures, none of them seemed to have any connection. So did that mean he or she just started. How long have they been planning this. And why him. Well, right now none of that mattered. All he needed to do was play the game and catch the person, before they kill again.

The note sent shivers down Lyra's spine. She frowned. Was this a prank? Was Ky trying to scare her? She jumped up from her couch yet again, grabbed her wand and rushed out her house and went next door, pounding on Ky's door, "Oi asshole! Open up!"

@Fantasy-Illy!

The pounding on the door made Ky want to punch something. Was a little peace so hard to ask for? Standing, he tried to calm himself as he walked to the door. He opened it with a sigh and saw it was the girl from next door. "Can I help you?" It was impossible to hide the irritation from his tone. Ky couldn't handle this girl, no more like he just straight up didn't like her.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra held up the note and pointed to it with her wand and then pointing the wooden stick at Ky, “Was this you? Is this a prank or some sick joke?” She raised a brow and crossed her arms, huffing.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"No, this," he gestured between them, "must be the joke." How could she blame this on him, they just met, there was no need to prank her. "I'm sorry. But I don't know what you are even talking about. So, if you don't mind." He started to shut the door but it wouldn't close.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra smirked, “You’re working the Anne Becker case. You know I have ties with her but there’s no need placing a note at my door threatening me.” She kept her wand up. Clearly her spell was working if the door wasn’t shutting.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"I don't go around threatening people. So leave me alone." He tried the door, but still it wouldn't close. As he tried to get rid of her his phone rang. It was probably another case, which is more important than this. He dug it out of his pocket and answered. "Hello." A voice was heard on the other side. He was explaining what the murder was like. "I have to go so move." Ky damanded as he hung up his phone.

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Tell me why you put the note on my door and I will." Yes, yes Lyra was a stubbon prick, she knew it, too but she was emotionally unstable as well and that combination was not good. Not for her, away. She furrowed her brows, tightening her grip on her wand.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Ky slammed his hand on his door and leaned down to Lyra's height. "I don't have time for you." His eyes were cold, almost as if he weren't human. Pushing the girl aside, was easier than trying to go against her magic and shut the door. Plus he had somewhere to be. A small cafe across town was attacked. Some dead, but most were injured. Was this the same person? "I have more important things to do."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"I want to tag along," Lyra replied, following behind him though she had to speed walk to keep up, "If you didn't send the note then who did? Why threaten me? Maybe whoever sent the note was the same person who killed Anne." Yeah, she was smart when she wanted to be.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Doubtful. Anne was murdered yes, but the killer I'm after didn't do it." Ky was to busy thinking, to really care about her following him. "The police will deal with Anne's killer. I have bigger fish to catch." Ky decided to walk to the crime scene. He had a car, and a motorcycle, but always preferred walking. A cafe with tons of deaths, he wasn't sure if that was his guy, but it was worth looking into. "I don't know who sent you that note, but I'll look into it."

@ElderGod-Carrots

A smile tugged at Lyra's lips but it faded soon enough, "Thanks… I guess…" She placed her wand in her pocket with her phone, making sure it was secure. if she lost it she didn't know what she'd do, "So… have any clues on who this 'bigger fish' of yours is?"

@Fantasy-Illy!

"No, not yet. But they obviously know who I am, and want to test me." Ky thought to his father, but it couldn't possibly be him since he's in prison. And the last thing he want to do is see him, but he might have too. To find a criminal you must think like a criminal. Once he arrived at the scene people whispered. Of course there was a note saying that this would continue to happen until he found them. One thing that they all had in common, was the way they died. Slit throats. And Ky's name carved into their skin. It sicked him to see this, but he need to examine them closer. "You might not want to see this." He held a hand in front of Lyra, telling her to stay back.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra sighed, "I'm not three, I can stomach things like this." She replied, peering over his arm from a moment, eyes widening before she did as told and stood backwards. Maybe it was a bad idea to get involved with this but it was too late now.

@Fantasy-Illy!

"What do we have." Even though he could clearly see how they died, it was still a good thing to ask, in case he missed something. "Well, as you can see, all throats were slit, and your name has been carved into the skin of all of them." The women looked disturbed. And Ky would be as well, if he hadn't already seen things like this before. He looked back over his shoulder to see how Lyra was holding up, he was glad she did as he said. "Well, theres and even number of males and females in here." So they weren't after any specific gender. "I think I need to visit someone." His father, if anyone could help him, it would be him. "Come Lyra." Ky didn't want the girl to be alone, so for now he would have to keep an eye on her.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra took one last look at the body before she followed. She would have made a comment about her not being a dog so he couldn't just tell her to 'come or whatever' but honestly, for the first time she didn't like it was appropriate and kept her mouth shut. Why would someone even want to murder so many people just for one guy? It didn't make any sense.

@Fantasy-Illy!

It was a long walk, but soon enough they reached the prison. "You don't have to come in if you don't want to." The guards moved in front of the gate. Ky, reaching into his pocket pulled out his badge showing them his name. He hasn't been here in a few years, but right away they recognized his name. "Ky Jones. You are quite famous around here." Ky sighed. He didn't want to be famous in a prison. "Well Lyra, are you going to come?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra hadn't really been paying attention to what had been happening, too caught up looking around and wondering why Ky had been here so many times to make him 'famous.' She looked to Ky and nodded, "'Course I am. Why wouldn't I?" She flashed a small smile, though made sure to have her wand ready in case she ever needed to use it.

@Fantasy-Illy!

Once inside there were even more guards. "Empty all pockets. Jackets must come off as well. Any jewelry has to be put in a locker." The huge blue orc gestured to the right where lockers lined the walls from top to bottom. There were many different kinds of creatures here, but mostly orcs, since they are known for their strength. Ky emptied his pockets and took his watch off next was his coat. He wrapped all his things inside his coat and put it in a locker. "You know you can't bring that in, right?" Ky's eyes wandered to her wand. It was a prison, of course they wouldn't allow anything like that.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra frowned down at her wand, tightening her grip on the wood. She never went anywhere without her wand really, not unless she forgot it by accident, "Yeah… I know…" She mumbled, placing her wand in a locker next to Ky's. She was tempted to give a dramatic speech but decided against it, shutting the locker a second later, "Let's go."

@Fantasy-Illy!

A different guard led them down a few halls and into a room that only held one prison in it. Half of the room was divided by plexiglass. There were no windows, and three guards stayed in the room at all times. A tall man stood from his chair with a smile that was a little off. "My son." Ky hated those words, although he really was his dad, Ky didn't want him to be. "What brings you here?" Ky walked closer to the plexiglass and sighed. "Someone is going around killing people to get my attention. He's using people's lives as a game to get me to find him. And I figured a criminal can help me find a criminal." Ky's father just laughed and slammed his fist on the glass. "But son, you are a criminal yourself, a very smart one. You are too smart for your own good. So, I don't see why you need me for this. Don't you love playing games." Shut up! He thought. "I'm nothing like you!"
"Think again son, you are exactly like and more!" Ky then lost it. He slammed the glass the same way his father did. "Shut up! You don't know me. You haven't been in my life since I was eight. You know nothing!" One of the guards came over and pulled Ky back. "Alright, I think it's time for you to leave." He followed the guard out, but his eyes were cold and dead.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra watched the interaction curiously. Even though Ky was asked to leave she wasn’t, technically. She walked up to the glass and crossed her arms, looking the man up and down a couple times with a frown, “So… do you have any idea who might want to get to Ky? Or why they would do such a thing?”

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Ky has a lot of people after him. So," the man shrugged and sat back down un his chair, "who knows. Anyway, who are you and what do you want with my son?" Ky's father leaned forward, intrested in who this girl might be. Ky had never been good with people, especially girls. So why all the sudden would he just wander around with one?

@ElderGod-Carrots

Lyra sighed and shrugged, starting to slowly pace in front of the glass, "Who I am doesn't matter, I'm no one really. Look, one of my friends was murdered and Ky said he'd look into it. Coincidentally the bastard is also my next door neighbour. We were have a… friendly chat when he got a call from one of his police friends and I tagged along for the ride."

@Fantasy-Illy!

"Hm, still, by now he should have pushed you away. Like everyone else he knows." A laugh came from the man, but it didn't last long. "If I were you, I wouldn't stay by his side. Death follows that boy, it's like he's cursed." A bell rang and he crossed his arms. "Miss, it's time to go." Ine of the guards gently pushed on her back to lead her out. Ky had been waiting in the entrance for Lyra. He debated leaving without her, but something told him to stay.
