"Right…" Lucien started as the entered the library. The building itself was quite small and old, but the few shelves were overfilled with old books. "Teddy, where are the books?"
Teddy nodded his head to the left and that's where they went. "There aren't many I have read, to be honest. Um, we're looking for really old books. I guess we'll just have to look until we find something."

"Looking… Looking…" Azrael started singing. She sang quite beautifully.

“This is sorted by genre, right?” Arabelle‘s eyes drifted over the shelves. “Is there a section for the kind of magic we’re looking for?”

"Portal magic, here we go!" Azrael said.

"The few books on magic I have seen have just been laying around," Teddy replied with a sigh, then he saw Azrael hold up a small, old book, and his eyes widened. "I've never seen that before! Open it up."
"I have one, as well." Lucien sat on the floor and flipped open a large book. Many pages had been torn out, and the ink had spread on some of them. The pages were yellowed and it all made the lettering difficult to read. "It is just general magic of some sort."

"To return to thou's homeworld, one must acquire: 2 potatos, 3 black candles, and the blood of a rare, exotic creature, who is a metaphorical black sheep of its family." Azrael finished reading off that part of it. It was in a different language, but Azrael translated.

Teddy raised an eyebrow. "An exotic creature? We'd have to travel… far."
"To Sacrus?" Lana was leaning over Lucien's shoulder, trying to decipher letters and numbers.
"Nah," Teddy replied. "We wouldn't have to go overseas, though."
"There are quite a few exotic animals in Chiyye," Lucien said enthusiastically. "We wouldn't have to go across the ocean, but it would be a great journey."

Arabelle had been looking at the book with fascination. Then she raised her head in thought. “Hmm. Well, I do have a dagger that can do the job. But… how long would this journey take? Can you give me a number?”
“Yes, how long would it take?” Victoria had been quietly sitting at a reading table with Charlie, breastfeeding Joel. “Assuming we’d be taking breaks.”

"Assuming we can get horses or graleon-" he paused, remembering the creatures he had, or hadn't, seen in other universes. "-graleon are, well, like furry horses… anyway, my guess is up to seven days."
"I could stay," Lana offered. "We don't all have to go. I'd remain behind, and gather the other stuff."

"I would normally teleport but I have no idea where we're going, so I'll use my horse. MARKER! COME TO THOU'S MASTER!" Azrael shouted. A black horse with grey eyes that could pierce someone's soul could be heard prancing towards Azrael. It was frightening to behold. It was a beast. The steed was huge, easily towering over a grown man. It arrived and knocked Azrael down onto the ground and started nuzzling her.
"Okay Marker, stop it," Azrael said.

Victoria looked troubled. “Seven days?”
“You don’t have to go either, if you don’t want to.” Charlie put a hand to her shoulder.
“Well, I’m going. Charlie, have you- Woah!“ Arabelle stumbled back as Marker arrived. “Azrael, why did you summon your horse to the library of all places?”

"I forgot we were in the library…"

Teddy grinned as the horse came running in. "Cool!"
Lucien stood and tucked his book under his arm. "There are some stables not to far from here, I believe. And I am sure we can find our accommodations throughout the journey. I've heard of some great inns down there."

“Well, I wouldn’t want to slow you down…” Victoria murmured.
Charlie stood. “Well, I could stay with Lana while you guys go on ahead. I can take care of Joel while you’re gone.” Her voice was firm, but she looked at Victoria for consent.
The troubled look hadn’t left her face. “Are you sure? I trust you with Joel, but I can’t help but worry. This doesn’t sound like it will be without danger. And what can I do? Would they need me?”
“Oh, Tori, you and Arabelle are the greatest witches I know. Together, I know you have much to offer. And you know I’m not religious, but I’m sure God will be with you too.” A warm smile spread on her face, though her eyes were sad.
Victoria chuckled. “Charlie, don’t call me that, please. Also, we are the only witches you know. But thank you. God will be with you too.”
Charlie faced the others. “So, how does that sound? Me and Lana stay behind?”

"Sounds good," Lana said, nodding. "We can track down the other supplies, and maybe do more research if needed."
"Right," Lucien agreed. "And we will return as soon as possible."
Lana bit the inside of her cheek as worry flooded her. "And return safe."
He smiled slightly and wrapped an arm around Lana. "Of course." He pulled back from her and motioned to Teddy and the others. "Shall we leave?"

"Sounds good to me."

“Alright.” Victoria handed Joel to Charlie, and then stood up. She was shaking, so she took a big breath to calm herself down. She looked at Arabelle.
“Are you prepared? Do you have…?”
“Oh yeah. I was researching when you found me, right?” She gestured to the dagger at her waist, the bag, and some eye droppers filled with what looked like blood. Arabelle turned to Lucien, a adventurous glint in her eye. “Leave we shall!”

Azrael got on her horse and so did Vozrea. They followed the others.

"Now, I can't say I've actually traveled far," Lucien started as he hopped onto his horse. "Not this way, anyway. Teddy has, though."
Teddy had a bit of trouble getting his graleon to start moving, but succeed after a minute. "Yeah, once. When we were babies. That doesn't count."
"Oh, and let me know if we should stop for any reason. I figure we will be arriving at the next town by nightfall, assuming we don't… encounter anything." He wasn't quite sure the dangers they may come across, but it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out. Lucien straightened his back and surveyed the area around them as they road on.

"So." Lana clapped her hands together and faced Charlie. She had a couple of books tucked under her arm, which made that a bit difficult. "Candles, did Azrael say?"

"Yeah, pitch black ones."

“If only I had my car,” Arabelle muttered as she got on Azrael’s horse. Victoria got on behind Lucien. “If only we had modern technology.” She replied. “Lucien, I think it would be a good idea to tell you our abilities, so you’re aware.”
She paused, waiting for his response.

“And potatoes, I believe,” Charlie put her hands on her hips. “Need help?”

As soon as she said car, Azrael's horse turned into a chopper motorcycle. Everyone was safe though.
"Sorry about that," Azrael said. The headlight on the motorcycle was shaped like a skull. It was pretty cool to behold.

"The hell?" Teddy jumped at the switch. He had never seen technology like that before. Lucien raised his eyebrows for a moment before responding to Arabelle. "Yes, of course. I must admit I was wondering."

"Yeah, please," Lana answered. "I know where we could get the potatoes… but the black candles? I have no idea. Maybe we make them?"

“Woah!” Arabelle jumped as their mode of transport shifted. “Nice.”
Victoria watched it transform in surprise before continuing. “So we both have telekinesis, I have advanced pain resistance, but you have…?”
“Advanced immunity.”
“Right. I also have super hearing and the ability to summon force fields.”
Arabelle continued. “I also can heal myself pretty fast, have super strength, and can blow stuff up.”

Charlie took some of the books. “That’s a start. Though I’m not sure how.”

"I can just one-hit kill them juat by snapping my fingers," Azrael stated.

"Wow," Teddy gasped. "You guys are powerful. You- you might even compete with some of the greatest sorcerers in the world."
Lucien scoffed. "No, no, they wouldn't. No offense," he added quickly. "The greatest sorcerers are literally that- the greatest. But anyway, I'm sure your abilities will be very helpful. It is reassuring to know that."

Lana frowned in thought. "We could ask around. Go to the market. There's always a lot of people there who might know something."

“Eh, don’t worry about it. I have a friend who’s a necromancer.” Arabelle shrugged. “Anyway, we should get going.”

“Sounds good to me.” Charlie shifted her arms so she could hold the books and Joel comfortably.

Azraels motorcycle changed back into a horse, without anyone getting harmed. They kept going.

(Hello?)

(sorry, i didn't have access to internet this weekend."

Teddy forced his horse forward, but after a couple more minutes of riding it stopped suddenly. He pulled on the reins, but the horse wouldn't move. Teddy frowned. "Guys?"
As Lucien turned to assess the situation, his horse whined and stomped its hooves. Lucien looked ahead, trying to follow the animals gazes. "There's something up there, on the path," he noticed. "Looks like maybe… a dog? A sort of small creature."
