Jack smiled softly, placing the kit down on the table beside Finely, "There's no need to thank me. Honestly, I wouldn't want you to be stranded out there. Besides, someone's got to show you the ropes."
He pulled out some creams, along with some bandages and a cloth. He quickly wet the cloth in the sink near by, gently starting to dab on the wound to clean it.

Finley sighed with relief, but he still felt a bit obliged to thank him. Kindness was taught to him, and the value of it was taught to him. Thanks were important.
“I still feel a bit bad about having you do all this. It feels necessary to thank you.”
He chewed his inner cheek, and let the wound burn. He didn’t want Jack to do this for him as well. But in the end, he’d probably make it worse for himself.

Jack placed the cloth down, “Well, you’re welcome, then. It really is no problem doing this, though.” He grabbed the creams, placing a little on his fingers and slowly starting to rub them on the wound.

Finley looked away now, by instinct, and just nodded.
It felt strange having someone else tend to his injury, someone who wasn’t his father or his mother. Though, his mother never really did much and Finley was pretty sure that she had no clue on what she was doing.

It wasn't long before Finley's wound was bandaged up. He smiled to himself, happy with his neat bandage work before he started packing his things away, "How does it feel?"

@Meow

Finley blinked and looked back to his cut, now properly bandaged.
“It still stings, but that’s to be expected.”
Now it felt even stranger, someone like Jack patching up his mistakes. No one did stuff like this. Jack was acting like a stand-in parental figure- maybe it shouldn’t be described like that.
What am I thinking?

@ElderGod-Carrots

“That’s true. Well, it should stop stinging soon, then it should be alright. Can you move your arm with the bandage okay?” Jack knew he might be overreacting just a little. But, he knew how bad injuries could get down here if they weren’t properly treated. He’s seen it first hand.

@Meow

Finley flexed his fingers and stretched and bent his arm.
“I can move it just fine. It was nothing that concerning in the first place.”
If he really thought about it, Jack seemed very focused on the injury. Rather than just patching him up and calling it a day, he was genuinely making sure he was okay. Which could mean a few things, but there was a lot Finley still didn’t know.

Jack nodded, “Okay. Good. I’ll check back in on the injury in a day or so. It probably won’t be any worse but… well, better to be safe then sorry.”
He sighed, placing the medical kit on a shelf not too far away and in easy reach.

@Meow

“Alright …”
Finley felt a twinge at what Jack’s words implied, but Finley wouldn’t last long without help anyway. What would he do now though? Maybe try and use the power of friendship to prevail? Would that really work though?
He didn’t want to think about the long-term commitment he’d have to make here, since he had nowhere else to go.

"I'm sorry your first impression of this place was well.. a riot," Jack started, sighing softly before he gave Finley an apologetic look, "This place isn't the best and I'm sorry that you ended up here out of the billion places in the universe."
Jack felt extremely sorry for the older male. Having grown up here he knew what it was like, the ins and outs. But for someone to just turn up and be thrown into a place as messed up as this? Finley would be better off trying to fix his ship and leaving.

@Meow

“It’s also kind of on me for ending up here. Since I was the one who made the decision to leave in the first place.”
Finley didn’t exactly want to think about being here. He knew nothing and he wasn’t safe either. Though, the other option would be to live up to his actions and work through his regret. He could have also killed himself, having his whole family gone and everything else, wouldn’t bring him a lot of happiness.
