Lynn was still at the computer terminal down the hallway, holding a tool in his mouth as he rapidly typed, sending some of the alien drones spiraling down at the ones who had come to investigate the break in.

book

Aya stood between them. “Micah, start taking the Angel out. I’ll stay with Lynn until we can go. Hurry!”

LeahCat

"I can't leave you guys!" Micah argued, not moving. "What if you don't make it out? You might need my help, I can't go!"

book

“We’ll be out in a second as long as we move quickly. Go. Besides,” she gave a quick grin, “I’m ready for anything that could be thrown at me.” Seeing that Micah wasn’t moving she continued, seriousness in her voice instead of lightheartedness. “We don’t matter to Command. It’s the mission that does. We lose the Angel and it’s worth nothing. I’ll stand guard and we’ll go. But you need to make the mission a success. Now go.” And there’s was a sternness in her tone like that of a commanding officer.

LeahCat

Micah frowned, ready to argue again, but Aya's tone made her realize that arguing wouldn't help anything. She had to get the Angel out. It was supposed to be the only thing that mattered. But as she looked my Aya's stern face, to Lynn frantically working at the computer, she knew that there was something else that mattered too. "Alright, I'll go. But you have to promise me that you'll make it out. That both of you will make it out."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn wasn't paying attention, clicking at the computer rapidly. There were shouts from down the hallway, and he muttered a curse. "I'm closing the blast doors along one side of the hallway." He told them, and the doors slid shut with a boom. It wasn't blocking the way out, but it would keep them from being attacked.

0017 was still examining the humans. The way they spoke, the way they moved. Each person here seemed to be unique. She said nothing, only following their orders. 'It isn't your job to ask questions or make suggestions.' The words of her discipline officer rang through her head.

book

Aya nodded, “Promise”

LeahCat

Micah gave her a small smile. “Come on,” she told 0017. They set off down the hallway, but before they turned a corner, Micah looked back to her team. No not just her team. Her friends. She whispered a quiet, “Be careful. I’ll see you guys soon,” before turning the corner and leaving her friends behind.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn kept tapping furiously at the keypad, his lower lip caught between his teeth. He had managed to intercept their chain of command, the messages they sent, and was wreaking havoc by typing messages of utter nonsense and flooding them with it.

book

The droning of incoming robot was coming nearer. For a second Aya’s trained expression slipped. “We almost done?” she asked tensely.

LeahCat

Micah led 0017 through the maze of hallways, keeping watch for other Angels. So far there was nothing. Everything was quiet. A bit too quiet for her liking. She started moving faster, eyes flickering, making sure 0017 stayed behind her. She hoped Aya and Lynn were doing alright. Aya had promised her they'd both make it out okay, and she trusted her. But she didn't like this place. Not at all. And for good reason. They turned another corner, and came face to face with Angels. Not just one or two, which she could handle, but a whole squadron. "Alright," Micah muttered. "Guess we'll have to fight our way out." She raised her dagger, and charged.

0017 looked at Micah. Charging at my kind is not the smartest thing to do. Fortunately for 0017, her number is below the 100's, which makes her stronger than the others (but also more prone to malfunctions). Should I help? She looked at the girl named Micah again. They said they would help me…
0017 sprinted towards them, joining the battle. She made quick work of them, especially with Micah on her side.

(Also I just realized that I've never explained what Angels do/ how they fight. I feel like it's important for y'all to know that so I'll go find my paragraph about them really quick)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn glanced up. "Almost." He said around the tool in his mouth. "Just let me…there!" He punched a key, and leapt away from the computer terminal as sparks shot out of it. He grinned in an almost mad way. "I just fritzed out every damn computer on the network. Now they can't do anything until they fix them all."

book

A grin almost flashed to Aya’s face. “Good.” She held out her hand to raise Lynn up, already preparing to dash after the others.

LeahCat

Almost immediately the Angels fell, crashing to the ground as Micah and 0017 slashed their way through them. She shot her partner a grin, and continued down the hall, pausing at every turn to make sure they wouldn't be caught like that again. She glanced behind her quickly though, begging Aya and Lynn to hurry.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn started moving. "Let's go." He said, moving as quickly as possible down the hallway. They needed to get the ship, so they could leave, before they were killed or worse. He glanced at Aya, and kept moving as quickly as possible. He still found it odd how he was the only male in the group, though he didn't dwell on it.

book

Aya ran behind until she passed him. Her gun was out now. Held in front of her as she covered the two of them almost as if she was offering her ammo to anyone, robot or human, willing to get in her way.

0017 was confused by the facial expression Micah made. She made a mental note to ask her about it later. She followed Micah, trying to be as quiet as possible.

LeahCat

Micah finally reached the last door, and shoved it open, leading 0017 over to where they had parked their ship. She glanced back again for Aya and Lynn. Still not there. Hurry up, she pleaded silently. Please, hurry up.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn kept running behind Aya, still typing on his wrist device. They had to make it out. They had to. If they didn't…oh God. They had to make it out.

book

“There they are!” Aya shouted to Lynn as the droning of robots came closer. She whipped around, her gun guarding her line of sight, unsure of where it was coming from. “Almost there!”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn cursed under his breath as he typed out commands on the wrist device. He was a good shot, but he didn't want to use his gun yet. Some of the robots he could control, and those ones he started up, attacking the others with them and just generally causing mayhem.

The Angel was still following Micah. When they reached the ship, 0017 assumed that she needed to go in. "How does your ship work?" She asked Micah, unsure how to open the doors.

(bump!)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Lynn kept moving, unlocking the doors to the ship as he went. He could do so remotely, as he had the controls in the wrist device he wore.
