All Is Hell That Ends With ‘Fair’(Closed ~ One-on-One ~ Rated a possible M)

“You’re so sweet…” Marcus buried his face in Cyrus’s neck after the kiss, smiling warmly.
“You know I’d do the same to you too, I’m here for you too. I don’t want this to be a one way relationship because I love you too.”

“I know,” Cyrus said, “And it’s not. I feel very supported by you. In comparison with some of my previous relationships, this one is… I don’t want to say perfect, but… my god…”

"It's as close to perfect as it can get in our circumstances." He replied, wrapping his arms tighter around Cyrus and kissing his cheek. "This relationship feels so real, so healthy it makes me want to cry, but happy cry. Not a bad cry." Marcus chuckled softly, reaching up to ruffle Cyrus's hair.

"I couldn't agree more," Cyrus sighed, "You actually… get me, ya know?"
He leaned into Marcus' touch.

"Mhm… I know because I get you." He winked, laughing gently. His sudden uplifted mood might have been slightly over-the-top but it was helping him forget the nightmares. "And you get me. You're also soft, caring, slow. I'm greatful for that. You make sure I'm not uncomfortable. And you've never lifted a hand against me."

"I'm just not that kind of person," Cyrus said, "I've never responded well to harshness myself. It's only fair I reflect that. I've had my fair share of less savory experiences, so I know a good bit about what not to do in a relationship at least. I love you a lot, and I'm so happy you've provided some of those same things to me. You care for me- almost too much."

"I love you a lot too, Cy. And I don't care for you too much, I care for you the amount you deserve. You deserve all of my care and love." Marcus pressed a soft kiss to Cyrus's nose before returning to his hair and playing with it. "My handsome, loving boyfriend."

"Well, it's less that I don't deserve it, and more that… um… I kinda worry about the possibility that you might put my needs ahead of your own," Cyrus explained, "Which I guess isn't that bad of a thing, but…"

Marcus sat back a little, his mouth falling open into an 'O' shape. "Well… your worries are placed right. It's true I sometimes put your needs before mine. I can't help it. I've been… taught to be that way." He admitted, nuzzling his face into Cyrus's neck. "But I'll make sure I take care of myself, okay? I won't hurt myself."

“Fair enough,” Cyrus replied, “But only as long as you let me do the same for you.”
He held the back of Marcus’ head gently.
“What all do you have lined up for today, love? All I’ve got is the whole… well… the whole murder thing, but since there’s nothing else on my plate, I’ve got time to figure that out.”

“Mhmm, of course I will.” He replied softly, smiling at the other’s touch.
“I don’t have anything today, Marx visited today because he’s leaving to meet with an ally gang in another city… he came for one last… you know…” Marcus shifted uncomfortably. “So I’m free until he gets back.”

Cyrus let out a gentle sigh.
“Thank god I was here then,” Cyrus said, shaking his head.
“Anyhow… wanna help me plan things out since we’re both free?”

(Sorry, I’ve been super busy, and I will be over the next two weeks but I’ll be on as much as I can!)

“Yes, thank you for protecting me… I needed you in that moment.” He murmured, kissing Cy’s neck softly.
“I do wanna help, it’ll distract me,”

“It was lucky if you ask me,” Cyrus laughed nervously, “But yeah, I’d appreciate that. A lot. Is… is the only way out really toppling our leaders? Because that stubborn asshole refuses to leave?”

Marcus turned around and settled into Cyrus’s lap, sighing as he pressed his back to the other’s chest. He reached up and traced the lines of his lover’s face. “That I’m trying to avoid… I don’t really like killing. I hate it actually, I’ve never been able to do it, no matter how hard I’ve tried. It’s the one thing Marx hasn’t changed about me. But I don’t see any other way. Marx is content on keeping me. I’m sure if I just disappeared, though, he might leave me alone or think I died. But having us just disappear isn’t good enough if we want to save your friend.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll do the dirty work if I must,” Cyrus said softly, “If it has to come to that.”
He stroked the other’s hair.
Then he stopped.
“Actually… I really am feeling worried about the whole thing, and it occurred to me that this could be a set-up. That if I don’t carry out the murder soon, someone else will. And I- I messaged him last night. I’ve yet to get a response. There’s no way in hell he’s back to work, so he can’t be busy with that.”

“I don’t want you to have to do that…”
Marcus looked up at Cyrus and frowned deeply when he spoke again. “We need to go check on him then. If he’s silent then something could be wrong. It’s not bad to check up on someone who’s on a hit list…” he sat up a little, twisting to press a kiss to Cyrus’s cheek.
“Let’s go check on him as soon as possible. I’m worried.”

“Okay. I’ll go get dressed, we can eat something, and then we can go soon,” Cyrus said.
Now he was suddenly a lot more concerned. What if something had happened?
“I’d hate to intrude a second day in a row if nothing is wrong, but… I think he’d understand.”

Marcus took Cyrus’s hand and gave it a small squeeze. “Of course he’d understand. You’re worried about him and that’s admirable. I’ll be there to support you too, okay?” He promised, gently standing up and smiling softly.
“What do you want to eat?”

“Thanks, love,” Cyrus said, “Just cereal or something quick. I’m not that hungry, but I figure it’s probably better to eat now than be hungry later.”

"Gotcha. It is better to eat now, even if you didn't want to eat I'd have you eat something. I won't let my love go hungry." Marcus ran his fingers through Cyrus's hair, smiling a little wider at his boyfriend. "I have a few cereals. I'm sorry I don't have much to eat. I can't afford it on what Marx pays me."

“I understand,” Cyrus said, “I have no problem with it. But I’ll buy us some more groceries once I have the chance, okay?”
He looked into the pantry and picked out the Cheerios, poured it into a bowl, and started eating it dry with his bare hands.

“Oh it’s okay, Cy, you can buy yourself groceries if you’d like, I can manage on my own, I don’t want you paying for me.” Marcus replied quickly, grabbing a handful of the Cheerios and eating them one by one.

“I’m willing to share. I’ll be making dinner for the both of us, you know,” Cyrus said, “We can, at some point, split expenses, but for the time being, I’m living in an apartment you’re paying for, so I’m more than happy to buy groceries.”
He smiled, placing another few Cheerios in his mouth.

Marcus blushed lightly, nodding gently. “Only for a few times! I want to help and pitch in what I can.” He offered one of his Cheerios to Cyrus, puffing up his cheeks in a slight pout.

“Just until we figure things out. If I’m going to live here, I need to pull my weight,” Cyrus reassured him.
Cyrus laughed softly and used his mouth to take the cereal from Marcus’ hand. His bowl was nearly empty at this point.

“Okay good. I’m just making sure. I’m not going to be a deadbeat boyfriend and I’m set on that.” He laughed with Cyrus and smiled as he took the cheerio.
“But thank you, expenses are tight in the job I have…. if you can even call it that.”

“Of course. I mean, on top of my income, I occasionally steal what my old man won’t miss, so…”
He laughed to himself.
“Not to mention a good kill can get you some extra cash.”
Cyrus shuddered a little bit at the thought. But it was true.
He finished his meal and went to change clothes.

Marcus nodded, letting a small smile slip. "That's funny, he deserves that too."
He followed Cyrus into the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed and looking out of the small window placed just above the small nightstand next to the bed.
"I hope you won't have to kill once we leave. I want you to be free of that too."

“Yeah, it’d be nice, wouldn’t it?” Cyrus mused.
He slipped into a clean outfit, and waited for Marcus to get ready.
