So I've had a concept bouncing around my head for a while and I want to see how it'll turn out:

It's the height of the Trojan war and both our characters live in this tiny town on the Grecian border where nothing ever happens until one day the Greek armada pulls up with a list of 100 people chosen by the gods to fight in the war. Our characters are on this list. Cue some tearful goodbye's as our characters get packed onto boats and sailed over to the front line where they're sent off to fight and (maybe) die.

I was thinking it would be some kind of wartime romance with plenty of angst and sadness, but I'm pretty open to change

(So I'd love to join this but I'm going to be gone a lot these next two weeks but if no one else joins are you're okay with that I can do my best to be on whenever I can, but to warn you now I'm not comfortable with a lot of swearing, and if it's romance, I'd prefer to do straight)

@Brynkadavsky_Is_Unfortunately_Busy, since you're going to be gone I'd prefer to rp with @MysticSquijet

So, do you have any preferences on the romance? cause I originally thought of a two-woman power couple but I'm fine with changing it

That sounds fine with me, I have three lesbians so that sounds good to me. Which would you prefer, a over excited very kind hardhead, a serious one who’s kinda oblivious and pretty abnormal, or a smarty who gets flustered easily and always wants to devise a plan before heading into action?

I think the smarty would be the most fun because I'm going to use my chronic dumbass who thinks with fists and not brains and the contrast could be really interesting

Also, I was thinking about maybe having our characters be demigods so they could train their powers together and bond a little

That sounds good to me!

(So I was thinking we start a little before the greeks get here and then let things play out)

Althea sprinted through the town square, narrowly avoiding other people as she scurried into the bakery and slammed up the 'open for business' sign. Iason was going to kill her if he heard she'd been late again! Or worse, he'd fire her, and then she'd be completely out of work because the damn war had cut off any jobs she might be able to find outside this stupid little town.

Cursing under her breath, she began putting loaves of bread into the oven and waiting for the morning rush of customers. Gods, she was so dumb! Still picking fights with guys when she was supposed to be on the straight and narrow.

(Hello?)

Stella walked calmly down the street, reading a book as usual barely paying any attention to her other surroundings. She watched as a girl sprinted into the bakery and disappeared then looked back to her book before heading into the bakery herself to get a bite to eat. The war was at one of its highest peaks and God’s it was getting on Stella’s nerves. “Fighting is a stupid and an immature way to solve a problem.” She muttered to herself, closing her book and looked up to order at the counter.

Althea turned as the door opened, self-criticism stumbling to a halt when the customer made her way to the counter. She dusted her hands off on her pants and rushed to the front, shoving the hair that had fallen in her face behind her ear.

"Welcome to Iason's Bakery! How can I help y-you?" she recited on instinct, stumbling near the end when she realized her customer was beyond cute.

Stella pushed her golden brown hair back from her face and met the eyes of the waitress, the girl she had seen run in, “Can I have a Pineapple danish, please?” She asked politely. Hmm, she’s pretty cute.

"Totally!" Althea enthused, grabbing what the girl had asked for with a smile that was, for once, not fake. Normally she loathed this job, but every so often a customer would be just cute enough to make her day. "I don't think I've seen you around before. You new to this neighborhood?"

Stella pushed up her glasses and nodded with a small smile, “Yes, I moved here two days ago. How much do I owe you for the danish?”

"2 dollars." Althea handed her the danish and struggled to find out how to keep the conversation going. This was probably going to be the best part of her day and she would savor it! "I didn't catch your name!… I'm Althea, by the way"

Stella handed Althea the money, “Al…Althea…hm…yes I like it. My name is Stella.” She stated.

"Oh, thanks! I kinda think it makes me sound like an old lady, but-" Althea was interrupted by a jarring sound, one she was quick to identify as… warhorns. But… that couldn't be right! The frontline was hundreds of miles away!

Stella’s eyes narrowed and she looked out the window a twinge of nervousness hitting her, “It was nice meeting you but I’d best be leaving.”

"Y-yeah." Althea forced a tight smile, but before she could so much as put away Stella's money, a soldier practically threw the door off its hinges.

"By order of the General, you are to meet in the town square. If you attempt to leave, you will be arrested on counts of treason."

Stella had been right at the door when the soldier came in, she sighed quietly but refused to leave quietly, “And why exactly would I listen to you?”

Althea winced when Stella sassed the soldier and winced even harder when he pulled out a very expensive looking golden sword. He raised it towards Stella, and Althea practically saw red. She hopped over the corner and decked the guy right in the jaw, smiling at the satisfying crunch it made when he stumbled backward. Served the guy right for threatening a civilian.

She turned around to ask Stella if she was alright, not noticing the soldier regaining his footing behind her
