Appearance: Justine has a very plain, often overlooked, appearance with her brown hair pulled into a simple bun—not very neatly done, so several strands of her hair fall out as the day progresses. Her eyes are a warm shade of brown, deep-set over soft cheeks. She has a typical European complexion passed down from her family, with a few freckles speckling her face from the time she spends outside. Justine is neither heavy-set nor notably thin, actively maintaining a healthy weight for her pear-shaped body type. Modesty driven, she wears long-sleeved turtleneck shirts and high-waisted jeans the majority of the time. She does, however, like to accessorize with patterned fabric headbands.
Personality: ENFJ. Justine has the reputation of being bubbly, often a chatterbox, and an optimist. She leads her life with a strong moral code, taking the time to analyze every decision against what she believes in. Namely, putting other people before herself. Left unchecked it becomes a very self-destructive behavior and she’ll need to learn how to help herself just as much as she strives to help others.
Skills: Justine does well in social situations. She finds it easy to talk with children, particularly comfortable with those that she’s known for a decent amount of time. Overall she is relatively well-spoken and an intelligent speaker.
Hobbies: Justine picked up knitting from her mother to pass the time, and carries a ball of yarn in her bag wherever she goes. She also likes to read, but not as avidly as knitting.
Fears: William getting hurt, especially when she could have avoided it.

The place looked frail, like it would crumble if so much as another inch accumulated over the roof, and it might have had it not been holding onto its steady structures for generations—its stone foundation and heavy beams. The first time Justine visited for an interview her breath had left her. She’d been pushing her puny little two-door car up the hill and through the gates one summer afternoon, all for an interview with the most famous family in the city. It was like a dream. Of course, having an aunt, who knew the Frankensteins personally, that could vouch for her capabilities as a nanny helped the odds tremendously in her favor.

“Justine!” the boy cried, “Look-look what I did!”

Justine glanced up from her knitting, which was a more difficult task in the cold than expected, even with fingerless gloves.
William stood proudly next to his project: a snowman, face dabbed with a bunch of chocolate pieces, and adorned with his father’s old top hat. “Very nice, William,” she said cheerily.

William bounced excitedly at the praise, but then abruptly stopped, squinting out at the blankness in the distance. Mesmerized by a little dark dot moving amidst the white. Something Justine couldn’t see, even after asking William what caught his attention. “What is it, Justine?”

Justine frowned, witnessing nothing more than perhaps just an elk on the other side of the valley. “Just some animal. Keep playing, my love, we only have a few more minutes outside.”

(No worries, I didn’t even notice lol. Your writing is great! I’m pretty rusty with them too so it takes me a while to actually get something written down)

After a moment William gave up on trying to figure out what the strange silhouette was in the distance, and turned to go back to putting the final touches on his snowman. There wasn’t much to be done, though, just a couple edges to be rounded out.

Justine lowered her attention back to her knitting project once William appeared busy again. For the next several minutes all seemed peaceful. The soft crunches of William’s footsteps in the snow, the meditative silence otherwise. At least until another set of footsteps had Justine reeling. Stumbling over towards William, who didn’t seem all that startled compared to his pale-faced nanny.

“Salut, sir!” The boy replied with a bright grin, beaming from ear to ear. Justine, near hyperventilating from fright, held onto William’s shoulder. She stood half in front of him, between William and the…some sort of creature before them.

“Who are you?” She demanded through a shaky voice.

Justine swallowed her nervousness just enough to find the words to answer. “Victor, yes, w—I know of him.” She was careful not to include William, whose image had apparently captured the creature’s attention. Tucking the boy slightly farther behind her, she glanced back to the man? No. The Beast standing before them. Her bottom lip quivered uncontrollably, even as she tried to hold it still between her teeth. “He isn’t here, though. Are you a friend of his? And can I have your name, if you please?” She went through her questions almost by rote, trained and versed in the chance that a stranger approached William.

William impatiently tugged on Justine’s pant leg, and when she didn’t answer, decided to be helpful. “Oh! I-I know! Victor’s my big brother!” he chirped before Justine could shush him. “His room is beside mine!”
