"Likewise" said Skye, looking back at him. "Though you're lucky none of the other street rats found you. Not many are fond of royals."
Anyone want to rp?
“Understandable…” Miguel mumbled, his family was stuck up and unsympathetic to the peasants of the town.
Skye gave him a reassuring smile. "I wouldn't worry about it too much" he said, "People won't bug you if you're with me."
“I hope so.” Miguel sighed. He then smiled and shook off the thought.
Skye grinned, "Ready to make some mischief?" he asked, looking down over the Market place.
Miguel nodded and smiled, “Yeah let’s go!”
Skye grinned, "Lead the way" he said.
Miguel looked over the large marketplace, “Umm, I don’t know this place very well…”
"Go wherever your feet take you" said Skye.
Miguel nodded and jumped down into the market place, looking around.
Skye followed him, curious to see where the other would go.
Miguel headed to a fruit and vegetable stand before turning to Skye, "Now what?"
Skye looked around. "Now we do this." He said, subtly switching the pricetags on the oranges and apples.
Miguel’s eyes widened, “That’s going to mess people up with buying things!”
"It's a harmless prank." Said Skye. "Besides, street kids do it all the time. People get confused, the occasional shop tender gets mad. But no real harm is done."
"If you say so." Miguel responded still seeming a bit unsure.
Skye smiled, switching a ouple more.
Miguel frowned but switched a couple. He studied them for a minute trying to ignore the impulse to switch them back.
Skye led him to another stall, switching a couple more. "Trick is to make sure that the prices are similar." he told the other.
"Um okay.". Miguel followed the others instructions, switching a couple with similar pricing, "Have you ever been caught?"
"Once or twice…" said Skye, "But rarely."
“Oh. But how are you not worried about getting caught?” Miguel looked at Skye, confused.
"Because I know how to get away…"
“I guess that makes sense.” Miguel looked at the clock tower and read the time, 5:50. Dinner was in 10 minutes, he paled, “I, uh, I gotta go.” He said hurriedly and start in a sprint to the castle, I can’t let them catch me while I’m out here!
Skye blinked in surprise, watching as the other disappeared into the crowd. I wonder if I'll see him again…
Miguel panicked as he climbed back through his balcony. He had five minutes until someone came to get him for dinner. He quickly changed and eased his rushed breathing and pretended to study.
Skye eventually shrugged, going back to wandering the streets like he normally did.
A few minutes later, Miguel heard a knock on his door. He opened it and was surprised to see his mom, “Hello, mother.” He said, eyes wide. “Hello dear. Time for dinner. I hope you spent your time today studying.” Miguel fearfully nodded, his parents were scary when he did something wrong, they’d lock him up in his room and make sure he couldn’t escape, whether it being with chains on his wrists and ankle, bars on his windows, or both.
Skye finally got hungry, and sighed. Time to get in trouble with the town watch again…. he thought, heading for the market place again, knowing he had to eat something.
Miguel was lead to the dining hall where he sat down at the end of the long table, his parents on either side of him. The food was brought out and they began to eat, talking in between. “How was your studies?” His father asked. “Good.” Miguel lied, he wanted to go back out but not that night, tomorrow he would. After dinner, Miguel went out to the garden thankful he didn’t get caught.
