The person just shrugged and motioned the stairs. "Go ahead, it's not like I've laid claim to the kingdom of the stairs. It's free property." They drawled, taking another sip of their drink. "I was just asked to make sure no one went upstairs, the owners don't want throw up in their rooms again. It happened last time."
"Are you a... Demon?" "No, I'm just Alt jeez." "Really??" "Nah I'm totally a Demon."
He giggles softly, nodding a little at the others words. "Okay… I won't go upstairs then…" He hummed and settles down on the stair beside the other. He paused before taking a deep breath. "I- uh. I'm Atlas by the way." He says quietly. He wasn't sure why he was talking. Usually he stayed quiet and glued to someone's side during a party. But Brian was no where to be seen. So of course, he was alone at the party and knew no one. His timid ass was a wreck at this point, but he didn't want to back out. Brian was trying so hard to get him out there.
They smiled, not a full one, but it was a start. "The name's Azzie, local fiend of the stairs and outskirts of parties." There was a sparkle in their eyes, it was very obvious that they were dramatic to the core. They downed the rest of their drink and lounged on the stairs. "What brings you to this party?"
Atlas smiled a little, easing and laughing quietly into his hand at the others words. "A friend of mine has sent me on an adventure to search for the best alcohol in the land, and possibly trying to get me out of my uncrackable shell." He murmured, huddling into his shirt a little but offering a tiny little smile. He loved theater and musicals… as well as anything he could get his hands on. Maybe they could get along… somewhat.
"Ah, a quest," Azzie smile grew wider and they set their drink down on a stair higher up. "I wouldn't look for the best alcohol here, it is very cheap." They motioned toward the dancing people. "Though placebo does work if you're trying to get drunk."
He nods and smiles a little. "Oh! Placebo… I learned about that in psych class. Fascinating really." He hummed, his eyes wandering over the crowd. "Might as well let people have their fun though." He set his cup down and sighed as he placed his head in his arms. "Did you come with friends?" He asks curiously.
"Oh absolutely not," Azzie chuckled. "I was just chilling in the basement for a few days, some dumbasses summoned me." They did some awkward looking jazz hands and pulled another solo cup from behind their back.
He paused for a second, thinking that over before nodding and smiling a little. "The basement, hm?" He teases a little bit. "I summon thee to the confines of my arms. Let there be no promises of tomorrow, only the faint whisper of assurance that you are by my side." He chuckles a little to himself, his eyes shutting as he whispers those words to himself. He tried to remember what book he had read it from, but the title would not come to mind. "
(Is that from actually somewhere???)
(One of my books that I'm working on.)
(ooo fancy)
(Thank you. ^^)
He paused for a second, thinking that over before nodding and smiling a little. "The basement, hm?" He teases a little bit. "I summon thee to the confines of my arms. He tried to remember what book he had read it from, but the title would not come to mind. "
"Sorry darling, doesn't work like that I'm afraid." Azzie looked honest to god amused at this little human. "I've never heard that one, so I'll give you props for that." They took another sip of their drink. "I came here by accident, so once this wears off, sure I'm up for contracts."
(Did we decide to make this platonic or romantic, I can't remember for the life of me)
He paused for a moment before glancing at the other. "Sorry- I was quoting a book…" He smiles shyly. "Sometimes I do that… Whenever someone says a key word… it uh… reminds me of something." He shrugged. "Uhm… this sounds off… but uhm… are… are you a demon?" He asks quietly.
(I don't think we ever did-)
(I don't really care either way, I'm just way better at writing romance, for some odd reason.)
(Romance works. ^^)
(I can just imagine Atlas quietly asking. "For a deal… I just… want a friend? You know. Someone who listens to me and makes me feel worth something. That's all I ask." Because he's a lonely baby that just needs a friends and it slowly blooms into feelings and he's like "oh no-")
(Hahaha, mood, I'll reply in the morning I need to sleep)
(Alright! Rest well!)
"It's quite alright, I don't particularly mind." Azzie smiled again, didn't want to chase away the human. Their eyebrows raised when he asked the question, fingers tapping on the side of their cup again. "What led you to that conclusion?"
He nods slowly, a little relieved that the other didn't get mad at him. He watched the party, now ignoring the drink. "Well… I… You keep making references to stuff a demon does. Like making deals and being summoned and stuff like that…" It was a kind of secret, but he was very curious about demons, not necessarily angels, they were pricks.
"What makes you think I'm not just interested in the occult, alt fashion, wannabe demons. You shouldn't assume everyone who wears fishnets and eyeliner is a demon." Azzie tsked, but their tone wasn't particularly judgemental, just humour.
He blushed crimson. "I'm… I'm sorry." He knew the others words held no malice. But he was embarrassed. He was shy, he had no skills when when it comes to people. He sighed deeply, "Sorry-." He mumbled again. He took a sip of the booze before spitting it out. "That's definitely not the best alcohol in the land." He hissed sharply.
Azzie stretched their hands in the air and chuckled. "Oh don't be sorry, you're right, I was just teasing." When they were done stretching, they took another sip of their drink, throwing the now empty cup behind them.
He blinked repeatedly before nodding slowly. "So… so I was right?" He asks softly. "But… If I may ask… What are you doing here?" He offered his drink to the other, not liking the taste one bit.
"I told you, I got summoned, he didn't even know he summoned me and just asked for me to make sure no one came upstairs. I get his soul and for a stupid job, easy money." Azzie shrugged, taking the drink and knocking it back. "Plus, free booze."
He nods a little bit and hums quietly. "I suppose that's fair." He still felt the small burn in the back of his throat. Alcohol was never his thing. "What's it like being a demon?" He asks quietly. He had always been interested. "I-If it's okay to ask-" He added on worriedly. God he probably looked like an idiot. His cheeks were flushed red with embarrassment.
Azzie snorted and leaned back against the stairs, body being supported by their elbows. "Well, it's a lot more of random people summoning you by accident than it is mystery and fun. Most of the time I get free booze and a random soul out of it, so I wouldn't say it's all bad." They raised an eyebrow and guestured their head toward him. "What's it like being a human?"
He listened intently, a faint glimmer in his eyes as he listened intently. He paused when being asked what it was like being human. He looked down at his hands and shrugged. "People say it's great to be human…" He shrugged sadly. "Rather painful if you ask me." He ran a hand through his hair. "We live here, we slave our lives away, and then we die. Not really a point to it if you ask me."
