"Yes," Matthew agreed. "More than I already do." The avian smiled a bit, his wings coming up some.

@Fraust

"Mhmm. How far are we going to go today?" She asked.

group

"A few more miles would be good before we stop," Matthew noted, looking around.

@Fraust

"Alright. Sounds fine to me." She kept walking quietly.

group

"Okay, then." Matthew let out a breath, humming some. They fell into silence for a few moments, before Matthew turned back to her.
"What do you think of this world so far?"

@Fraust

"It seems pretty nice. We haven't run into anything terrible other than the snake, so hopefully that was just a fluke."

group

"Yes, hopefully, it is. I'm surprised that happened at all, really, especially in the city." Matthew let out a breath, shaking his head some.

@Fraust

She nodded a bit. "Yeah. It doesn't happen too often back in New York either. Rowan's only ever seen snakes in pet stores."

group

"Ah…" Matthew nodded a bit. "We, ah, might have had a run in with a pet shop before we brought you here."

@Fraust

"Hmm? What do you mean?" She asked curiously.

group

"Well, we had left the chicks with a sitter while we went to look into how to get you and Rowan's world, and when we went back for them they'd been taken to a pet shop and locked in a cage." Matthew let out a breath, growing slightly angry at the memory.

@Fraust

"Oh, that's awful! At least the chicks are okay now, right? They didn't hurt them or anything?" She asked.

group

"No, they weren't hurt at all. We got them back before anything happened, if it would have at all." Matthew let out a breath, looking down at the sleeping chicks.

@Fraust

She nodded a bit. "That's good, at least… I'm glad you got them back. Rowan would have been devastated to lose them."

group

"So would I," Matthew admitted. He hugged those in his arms close, letting out a breath. He was quite protective…

@Fraust

Rowan yawned a bit when Matthew pulled him closer, but stayed asleep. Rowan's mother smiled gently as she looked at the five of them.

group

Matthew looked down at Rowan as the man yawned, a small smile coming to his lips. He didn't even know what he could say that would explain just how much this man meant to him.

@Fraust

Rowan's mother yawned after a while of walking as well, but kept quiet, never complaining about the long journey.

group

Matthew looked over when Rowan's mother yawned, looking to the sky a moment.
"How does stopping sound?" he offered.

@Fraust

"Sounds good to me, darling. Should we build a fire?" She asked.

group

"Yes, it sounds good to me." Matthew set the sleeping Rowan down on the ground, in a soft patch of grass.

@Fraust

Rowan's mother sat down beside Rowan and kept watch over him while Matthew built a fire.

group

Matthew gathered the things needed for the fire, coming back with an armful of sticks.

@Fraust

"Do you need help with anything, dear?" Rowan's mother asked gently.

group

"No, thank you though, ma'am." Matthew offered a smile, setting the sticks up, starting the fire.

@Fraust

She nodded a bit and stayed close to Rowan, running her fingers through her son's hair.

group

Matthew sat back when the fire was going, his wings relaxing on the ground behind and beside him.

@Fraust

"How long did you say you thought it would take to get to your home?" She asked softly.

group

"A few weeks," Matthew said, looking over. "Why?" He shifted around some to be half facing Rowan's mother, and half facing the fire.

@Fraust

"Just wondering how long we'll be on the move. I'm sure Rowan is going to pull another stunt like that some time soon."
