I could tell you what the pit was, and what it wasn't.
It was a living hell, run as an underground fighting ring by the guards and those rich enough to bet on it.
it wasn't a prison. It wasn't a place only the worst of prisoners inhabited. Sometimes the innocent did too. Their only crime being born.

The year of the Devil was the year of the worst plague known to mankind. Affecting only humans, people grew desprite, making deals with the fae folk, and worst of all the Devil.
Children born of the Devil inherited the monstrous features of one. Children born of the fae were lucky enough to gain unnatural abilities, making it easier for them to blend in with either race.
Soon after being discovered most of these children were murdered. The few unlucky ones sold off to the highest bidder, others being thrown in prisons with their mothers.

Character A, born of a deal with the Devil, unlucky enough to have been captured instead of killed as a child, grew up in the pit, learning to fight from a young age.

Charter B, born of a fae deal, lucky until now, was recently arrested for a horrendous crime they didn't commit. Ending up in the pit was the unlucky part.

Okay cool there's that! I'm thinking like a dark magic possibility of a romance vibe. The romance won't be the main plot tho if we do so chose to have it. If there is romance tho im thinking like enemies to lovers (:

Name:Everett Acyn
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Sexuality: pan
Personality: He's a soft spoken guy, choosing to stick to his own thoughts most of the time. While Everett had a hard childhood that didn't stop him from growing up into a kind soul, always taking the peaceful route. He's the kind of person that always takes the high road, apologizing even when he wasn't the one in the wrong.
Appearance: Everett is a 6'2 string bean, with little to no visible muscle. He's got red wavy shaggy hair that tends to hang in his eyes. Everett has a tattoo sleeve of forest trees, starting at his wrist, going all the way up to his shoulder on his right arm.
Clothing choice: He tends to go for a more neutral colored closet, sticking with White's, browns, and blacks. His pants can be described as balloon pants, and his shirts tend to be loose fitting linen. As far as shoes go, he mostly wears simple shin length brown boots.
Strengths: healing ig, his ability to think things though.
Weaknesses: any kind of fighting really, physical, verbal, he's at a loss for both. His kindness.
The crime they were framed of: the Assassination of a minister
Fae ability: Everett can speed up others ability to heal from minor injuries. A soft green glow will admit from his hands, as he uses his own energy to help. The larger the wound, the more taxing it is on him. He passed out once seeing how far he could go.
Backstory: Everett comes from a large noble family. Having two older brothers, a younger sister, and another brother.
growing up his mother hid the fact that she'd made a deal with the fae to save her family. In doing so Everett was always cast aside and ignored by his older and younger siblings. A kind maid that was employed by his mother raised him, teaching him about the human body and what points to target while healing. She died under mysterious circumstances when Everett was 17. Being on his own now he decided to start going to medical school, trying to better his understanding of his ability while keeping it a secret from those who would use his power for themselves.
It wasn't until he was 19 that he slipped up, trusting someone he'd thought was his friend. Rather than turn him in, they vanished. Everett thought he was safe until law enforcement showed up on his family's doorstep, claiming he was under arrest for murder.
Originally his father had tried to fight these allegations. Seeing it as something they could pay their way out of but quickly switched sides once seeing his mother only saw this as a chance to rid their family of him.

The Pit swallowed all light, shielding the horrores below from Everett's sight.
His oldest brother had once acknowledged his existence long enough to tell him about the underground fighting ring. How he'd watched, and even bet on the fights. Everett remembers their mother yelling at his oldest brother that night for being stupid enough to bet on a fight.
She wasn't mad about the fact he'd bet on human lives. She was mad that the one he had bet on lost, and he'd gambled his money away on it.
It, because the people down there weren't human anymore. At Least not in his family's eyes.
Now Everett found himself on that very same ledge that murders once knelt on just as he did now. A guard roughly tied a rope around his waist, saying something as he did. Everett could barely hear anything over the ringing in his ears. "Huh."
"I said," started the guard again, "pick a god and start praying." Everett nodded his head acknowledging the useless advice.
This was it. This was his grave. This giant gaping hole in the ground was the end of the line for him.
He opened his mouth to speak, maybe to plead his innocence one last time, maybe to curse whoever had framed him. Whatever it had been, he didn't get to find out. Instead all that came out was a strangled scream that was cut off by the rope going taunt.
They had pushed him in. The rope being the only thing that kept him from splatting on the ground below.
Everett dangled awkwardly for a few moments while trying to catch his breath. His waist ached from when the rope had stopped his fall. The descent began again, this time at a steady pace.
It wasn't long before Everetts eyes adjusted to the dim lighting and he could see the ground. This really was it. He couldn't help but feel maybe his parents had been the ones to frame him. That his mother had set up another sick deal, but this time to rid herself of the actions from her first.
Or maybe he'd just trusted the wrong person, and they had set this entire elaborate scheme to make sure he suffered.
The ground was now close enough that if Everett wasn't painfully dangling by his waist he was sure that standing up straight he would have been able to just barely touch the ground.
snap.
Everett fell, shielding his face with his hands, only to make a loud thud as his body connected with the dirt floor.

Everett pushed himself onto his hands and knees, taking a moment to register what was happening.
People around him cheered. For what? He couldn't say. At Least not until whoever it was kicked him square in the ribs, sending him rolling halfway across the ring.
His lungs screamed for air as he tried to catch his breath and scramble to his feet all in the same fleeting seconds he had to try and get away. His attempted escape was pitiful. He limped towards what looked like a tunnel not caring where or who it led him to. Anything was better than immediately being murdered. The small bit of distance he had been able to put between him and whoever his opponent was didn't matter.
The rope was still tightly tied around Everetts waist. He slammed into the ground again as the man took hold of the other end. Using it to drag Everett backwards. The crowd only cheered louder. If only he could get up and just fight.
It was then that a stupid idea filled Everetts thoughts. He placed a hand right above what he was sure were bruised ribs, that dim green glow admitting from it as he quickly tried to heal himself enough to just stand. Everett used the momentum of being dragged to leap to his feet. He was so sure this would work, and yet, as he stood; his opponent's first flew straight into his face.
Everett crumbled to the ground once again, hands flying to what was surely a broken nose. He squeezed his watering eyes shut waiting for the next blow.

By the end of it Everett was curled up on his side, hands wrapped around his head for protection. If he hadn't been so low on stamina he might have tried to heal himself again. Even breathing hurt.
The fight, if you could even call it that, was over. The man who'd beaten him raised his hands in the air in triumph. The crowd cheered as he did. Everett had no clue why anyone would cheer for such a one sided fight. Hell, why they cheered at all had him at a loss. The man had thrown him around like a rag doll and then pretended it actually meant something.
Someone, a guard or maybe even his opponent, pulled him up by the arm, and practically dragged him from the ring; dumping him somewhere off to the side.
After a few painfully long minutes, when he was sure no one else was going to beat the shit out of him, he took a moment to finally look around. He also took a moment to finally worm his was out of that stupid rope.
He looked at the faceless crowd. Each wearing a stupid mask to hide their identity, and wondered if maybe his oldest brother had taken up betting on fights again. If maybe he sat there now counting the money he'd won for betting against him.
His eye, singular because the other was swollen, slid to the other people in that little area.

Evertt hesitated. He didn't feel like getting the shit beat out of him again. Didn't know what this lady wanted from him, why she was showing any kindness. People in places like this didn't show kindness for no reason.
Still, he wanted the comfort of knowing he had at least one ally down here.
He took her hand, standing at an awkward hunched over angle using the wall at his back for support. Whatever adrenaline he'd originally had, had worn off at this point. He could feel the full extent of his injuries now.
Everett wrapped an arm around his ribs. The small bit of healing he'd been able to do meant nothing in the end and he'd only made a fool of himself.
He finally mustered the strength to speak, "why," was all he was able to get out.

Highest-ranking, Everett didn't even want to know what someone so high up wanted with him. So far the only thing it seemed he did was put a target on his back. Especially if there was a ranking system, he was definitely at the bottom. Shit. he closed his fist tightly around the dirty rag as if it was the only thing holding him to reality.
Evertt raised his eyebrows at the smile. Definitely less than friendly looking. The blood on her face made it actually quite threatening.
Kindness or not, he didn't trust her.
"Right," he started, "well if you'll excuse me I'm going to succumb to my injuries." Which wasn't completely a lie. All he wanted to do was find a guard to point him in the direction of a cell he could just rot in. Maybe after a few days of self pity he'd find the strength to heal himself. Then the process would begin again. Over and over until he found himself not getting back up. Atleast thats what he told himself.

Everett hesitated for a moment. He wasn't so sure the strangers wish of luck was comforting. He already knew what awaited him, but seeing the dark tunnel, and hearing her word's only made him want to run back into the ring and beg for a quick painless death.
If he turned his back on her now, would this stranger offer her alliance again? Maybe it was smarter to stick with her until he figured out just what exactly she wanted. Or maybe she was lying and just needed human shields. It didn't matter. What mattered now was Everett needed to rest and figure out his next move. "Fine." He'd take her advice. For now atleast.
