"But why?" Cordelia asked, turning to face her. "You're just going to go along with this? How do we know this isn't something else? How can we trust them?" She snapped, more than a bit angry.

"I'm not saying that we go along with it! I'm just saying that there's more evidence for they're saying than there is against it!" Her hair flamed higher above her head.

"So what, we should all just…die?" Alex asked, wind whipping faster. "Lambs to the slaughter? Do what this…person tells us to do just because of some convenient evidence?" He snorted.

"I'm not saying that!" Dalia yelled. "But they have given the only explanation as to why the fuck this is happening to us, and they're our best bet!"

"How do we know they aren't a psycho?" She hissed, tugging at her sleeves. "How do we know they didn't drug us? How do we know they aren't going to do something to us?"

Thalia sighed, "Listen, Memphis. This sounds great and all and I would love to help defeat the… darkness guy or whatever. But I can't help you, because I don't know how." She smiled and continued, "So, why don't you just end this little game of yours so that I won't beat you to a pulp?"

Alex shifted. "You aren't doing a very convincing job, Memphis. If that's even who you are." He watched Memphis carefully.

"Hmm? What?" Memphis asked, snapping out of their faraway stare. "Oh, yes. You see, you have no choice. You can go back to your normal life, but this will still happen. Whether you like it or not, you are the new Elementals. Your appearances will not change back to how they were. You are stuck like this, and you don't have a choice."

"I'm not," Memphis said, holding back the other three with an invisible force. "Her powers must awaken. This is the easiest way."

"What the hell?!" Thalia screamed. "What are you doing?" She ran over to them, trying to help Cordelia

"There you go!" Memphis yelled as the barrier dropped, the other three running up to the cliff. "Now use the water to come back up."

Cordelia felt herself rise up, falling completely silent as she tried to not panic again. She stumbled as she reached the top, still in a half daze with tears drying on her cheeks. "W-what just h-happened?"

"You're powers awakened. I shall teach you to use them once the other three are awakened. This is an essential part of the awakening process. It must be done. Now, who's next? Earth? Fire? Air?"
