Halm gathered up the things he needed for work, heading outside with Cas. He would be collecting memories today.

@Fraust

Cas didn't seem like he was going to be very active today, as per usual. He hummed softly and soon pulled his massive hood over his head.

group

Halm smiled a little. He kneeled down to begin, keeping one arm around Cas.

@Fraust

Cas soon drifted off to sleep in Halm's arms, seeming to be sufficiently warm enough in the massive hoodie.

group

Halm looked down when Cas went limp, smiling softly to himself.
"Adorable," he mumbled.

@Fraust

Cas yawned and huddled close, humming happily in his sleep. Thankfully, he wasn't dreaming at the moment.

group

Halm worked diligently and quietly, trying to move as little as possible.

@Fraust

Eventually, Cas started stirring and whining, seeming to be uncomfortable and distressed. He tried to clutch at Halm through the thick material of the hoodie.

group

Halm quickly put down his work, focusing on Cas. He put both arms around Cas, moving the hood off of Cas's head.
"Cas?" He said quietly.

@Fraust

"Mmmmm…" Cas opened his eyes and looked up at Halm weakly. He was trembling and his face was rather pale.

group

Halm pulled Cas closer, wrapping Cas up in his arms more.
"What's wrong?" He asked softly.

@Fraust

Cas huddled close to Halm and sighed. "I-It's stupid… don't worry about it… no big deal…"

group

"It obviously upsets you," Halm said gently. "So it's not stupid." He gently rubbed Cas's back.

@Fraust

"I just get nightmares sometimes, I… it's nothing…" Cas buried his face in Halm's chest.

group

Halm gently put his hand on Cas's head, sighing a little.
"I see," he said softly.

@Fraust

Cas sighed and tried to put his good back up, clearly wanting to hide. "I'm not surprised I'm getting them now after talking with my dad… he usually features a lead role in them."

group

Halm moves his hand to let Cas put the hood back up.
"I see," he said gently. They really shouldn't have talked to him.

@Fraust

Cas huddled in Halm's arms and soon seemed to calm down considerably, although he didn't really want to go back to sleep.

group

Halm just held Cas while he calmed down, and after a while he went back to work.

@Fraust

Considering he didn't want to sleep again, Cas looked up and started to watch Halm work instead.

group

Halm was carefully harvesting the memories of the current soul, who had died in a car accident. Halm was staying calm, but in reality he hated violent deaths. They were also slowly making their way towards the area Cas's father was.

@Fraust

"What're you doing?" Cas asked quietly, not wanting to distract Halm too much from his work.

group

"I'm removing the memories from the soul. This helps get them ready for the next life." He pulled the tear shaped vessel away, setting it down in the box.

@Fraust

"Oh… okay. What if they don't wanna lose their memories, though?" Cas asked, examining the vessel curiously.

group

"Unfortunately, there's no other way. I have to take them." Halm sighed a little. The vessel, when Cas started examining it, started playing the memories on a sort of highlight reel.

@Fraust

"What do you do… with them…?" Cas stared at the vessel for a while, rather confused. He jumped and clung to Halm when he saw the car crash and all the blood.

group

"They go into storage," Halm said. He carefully took the vessel away when Cas jumped, putting it completely away.
"It's like an afterlife. The memories, the consciousness tied to the soul, enter a dream like state." When Cas died,, and if he decided to give up his memories, he himself would experience this and only the soul would continue to the next life.

@Fraust

"O-Oh… okay…" Cas pulled his hood down over his face and huddled close to Halm, trembling slightly. "Am… am I gonna be like… born here again when I die?"

group

Halm wrapped his arms around Cas.
"If that's the way you want to go about it, yes. It's not the only option, though." Still, Cas would always end up down here.

@Fraust

"Mm…" Cas closed his eyes and sighed softly. "You'd probably be a better father than my dad was."
