“Well for one we haven’t had a math teacher in weeks,” she said glancing at the sub. “Two I feel like the cliques here are worse than in my last school. Even the rumors seem to be worse.”she could name more but she felt like they would show too much.

"Hmm, those are good points. I guess I'll have to watch out for the cliques, then. And the rumors." Ciel frowned slightly. "Do they care that much about new kids? Probably not, right? It's a big school. Right?" She twisted the end of her braid around her finger. Hopefully, she would be able to stay out of drama and be able to bite her tongue this time.

@Spider-man

“Don’t worry. Like I said before just keep your head down and don’t fuck with people,” she said. The bell rang and she stood up. “I’ll see you at lunch?”

"Right." Ciel laughed softly. If only it were that simple. For others, yeah, but she had a had time with it for some reason. "Oh, yeah. That would be wonderful." She stuffed her untouched math notebook into her bag and stood.

Melissa nodded. “Ok see you then,” she said before leaving the class. A few classes later she’s scanning the lunch room for Ciel.

"Bye!" Ciel zipped her bag and slung it over her shoulder before getting out her schedule. Where in the world was her next class?
After a few classes she was barely on time for, Ciel hurried into the lunch room, and sat down at the closest empty table in the corner of the room. She'd looked around for Melissa, but it appeared that she had gotten there first.

@Spider-man

Melissa showed up a few minutes late. A boy had his arm around her waist. She looked around and then pointed Ciel out to him. She kissed him on the cheek before walking over by herself. "sorry for ditching you. Sort of forgot I was supposed to show you around," She said smiling softly. "Do you want to sit with me, Branden and some of his friends?" She asked.

"Oh, it's fine. I found my way around alright." Ciel smiled reassuringly at Melissa before glancing past her at the boy. "Yeah, sure, as long as I'm not getting in your way or intruding or anything." She turned to look back at Melissa. "Is that Branden?" Ciel nodded towards the boy and stood up. She hadn't gotten any of her lunch out yet in case she needed to move or leave quickly.

@Spider-man

“Yeah,” she said glancing at him. He was talking with his friends. When he looked over at them he waved the over. He tried to look nice but Melissa could tell he was getting impatient.

"Okay, then. I'm meeting people, I guess." Ciel slung her backpack over one shoulder and started towards Branden. She was kind of nervous about meeting this guy, but she pushed it to the back of her mind. If she was going to be friends with Melissa– and she hoped she would be– then she probably had to meet her friends.

@Spider-man

Melissa walked over and sat next to Branden. There was an empty seat across from her. “Hey babe,” Brandon said. He took her chin and kissed her. She he finally broke it she turned to Ciel.
“Hey everyone This is Ciel,” she introduced.

Ciel sat down in the empty seat, feeling quite awkward. She felt even more out of place when Branden kissed Melissa. It felt like she was intruding on something, and was about to get up again when Melissa introduced her. "Uh, hi!" Ciel waved quickly at the other people at the table.

@Spider-man

“Hey I’m Brandon. You must be the new kid Melissa keeps talking about,” He said smiling at her. He was holding Melissas hand now. A few people said “hey” and introduced themselves but others ignored her.

"Nice to meet you, Brandon." Ciel smiled back at him. "Yeah, that's me." She smiled and greeted the people that introduced themselves, though she knew she'd never remember all their names. Maybe she'd learn them over time, but would she get that time?

@Spider-man

Brandon looked Ciel up and down. Melissa kept her eyes on the other girl as well. He tightened his grip on her hand and she looked down at the table. He took his food out of his bag. “So how’s your first day?” He asked.

Ciel played with the hem of her jacket as Brandon and Melissa stared at her. She was feeling very uncomfortable and wished they would stop staring at her. Well, more specifically, that Brandon would stop staring at her. Ciel let out a breath when he started taking his food out of his bag. "Oh, it's okay so far. It's nice to be in a new place. I'm pretty sure the novelty of everything will wear off in a few days, though, and I'm not ready for that." She laughed a little and looked down at her bag to get her food out as well.

@Spider-man

Melissa laughed but Brandon stayed stone faced. She looked up at the other girl. Brandon took out his lunch box and gave Melissa her sandwich she packed that morning. She packed his hole lunch.

Ciel placed her lunch on the table and started unpacking it, sneaking glances at Melissa or Brandon occasionally. She had no idea what the relationship between them was like, but she had a hunch it wasn't perfect. Well, no relationship was perfect, but this one felt even less perfect. Ciel opened a container of strawberries and popped one in her mouth, still stealing glances at the couple across from her.

@Spider-man

Melissa ate her sandwich looking at Ciel. She was just happy that Brandon finally let go of her hand. “So we have gym next,” she said trying her best to start up a discussion.

"Ah, is it bad?" Ciel groaned, leaning towards Melissa slightly like she was telling her something secret. "The gym class at my last school was the worst. There was way too much running in it for me." She gave Melissa a small, crooked smile and put another strawberry piece into her mouth.

@Spider-man

“It’s not that bad. The teachers don’t care what you do as long as you’re active for at least half of the class,” she said. “I usually stay in the weight room.”
“Yep with me,” Brandon said. He kissed her again.

"Well, that's nice. I'll probably just walk around or something." Ciel nodded as if agreeing with herself. "Oh, Brandon, are you in the same gym class as Melissa and I?" She looked towards him with polite interest, though she knew she wasn't going to be that happy if his answer was yes. Ciel had hoped that she'd be able to talk with Melissa in the gym class, but it appeared that it wouldn't be happening.

@Spider-man

“Yeah he is but he’s usually lifting or something and I’m in the treadmills,” Melissa explained. Brandon was staring at Ciel again. Checking her out. Melissa glanced at him and then bit her cheek. She kept her eyes on her sandwich.

"Oh, I see. However much I hate running, I think I might have to join you in there sometimes. I have to stay in a bit of shape, just in case I get dropped into an adventure or something like that." Ciel put the last strawberry in her mouth and closed the container, her eyes sparkling with humor. Most of her attention was focused on Melissa, though she glanced at Brandon occasionally. All his staring was making her slightly uncomfortable, but she didn't show it.

@Spider-man

“That would be great,” Melissa said crossing her legs. She leaned on the table. She finished her sandwich. Brandon kept looking at Ceil but then he looked away and talked with his friends.
“We still have awhile till lunch is over. Want to go to the library?” Melissa asked Ceil. She always snuck away to the library half way through lunch.

"Oh, yeah!" Ciel's face lit up at the thought of the library. It would probably be quieter there than the lunchroom, and that was a definite plus. "That's most likely the place I'll spend most of my free time, to tell the truth." She smiled at Melissa.

@Spider-man

Melissa nodded. “Thought so,” she said before standing up. She tapped Brandon. “I’m going to the ladies room. I’ll see you at gym,” she said before kissing him on the cheek. She walked over to Ceil.

Ciel swept her things into her bag and stood. "I'll come with you." She wasn't quite sure why Melissa needed to lie about where she was going, but she didn't like it. Maybe she would ask her about it, or maybe not. It might be a touchy subject.

@Spider-man

Brandon just waved her off. Melissa smiled at her and took her hand. She led her out of the cafeteria and down the hall. She didn’t even notice that she was still holding her hand.

Ciel was… surprised, to say the least, when Melissa took her hand. It wasn't a bad thing, just unexpected. She had a boyfriend, Ciel reminded herself, but that didn't stop her from blushing the tiniest bit. And it didn't make her let go of Melissa's hand. "So, Melissa, do you go to the library during lunch a lot?" The question was partly to distract herself and partly because she was truly curious.
