Azzy

“I know, I know.” Pax grumbled, warily watching people pass by in the marketplace. “Just don’t want to overstay my welcome.”

Azzy

"Calm down, Pax." Azzy said, rolling her eyes as she fiddled with her ring. "You're fine. Trust me, they aren't too hot about me, either. I get it."

Faith

Faith was drawn from her peaceful slumber by the sound of dozens of overlapping conversations around her. Her eyes blinked open, and she yawned, trying to sit up on Kanaan's back.

Astra

"Your bread makes fine payment!" The owl cooed cheerfully, eyeing the small piece Paxton was tentatively munching on.

Paxton

Pax raised his eyebrow at Astra, unsure if he should offer her anything. He gave Azzy a bit of a puzzled look. "Why wouldn't they like you? You sure seem nice."

Azzy

Azzy rolled her eyes at Astra's comment, shooting her a look. "Ask, don't be creepy. They're not the nicest to the outcasts." She said in response to Pax's question, shrugging.

Kanaan

Kanaan paused to let Faith adjust herself, scanning the market place curiously. "Did you sleep well? It probably wasn't the most comfortable ride…" He stepped back to avoid a woman trying to manage three young children, who shot him a grateful look.

Astra

"You're mean to me!" The owl complained, flapping her wings once or twice with mock distain.

Paxton

"I get that. You just… don't seem like an outcast." Pax shrugged his shoulders. "You seem like you'd blend in just fine." He stated a bit bluntly.

Faith

Rubbing sleepily at her eyes, Faith managed a nod. “It was fine, thank you. How long was I out?”

Azzy

Azzy ignored Astra's dramatic flapping, reaching out to smooth her feather out instead. "That's rich. Me, blending in. It's kind of hard to do that when your first contact with the outside world was two years ago."

Kanaan

"The whole walk here, and a bit while I walked around." Kanaan responded, side-stepping a wagon loaded with squawking chickens.

Paxton

Pax watched Astra shake out a few loose feathers and raised his eyebrows in surprise. “What do you mean you’ve only been outside for two years?” He asked, his eyes narrowing in concern.

Faith

Faith gave a sleepy nod, wrapping her fingers carefully around Kanaan's antlers and leaning forward a little.
