"Alright. Where do you want to fix it up?" Natalie looked up at Jack, seemingly not flustered or anything by being basically half naked.
Bored as all hell borther (RP)(Closed)
"Right here's fine." He walked off into a different room and came back a few moments later with a thread and needle.
"I don't have any pain meds, sorry" he apologized as he settled down on the floor in front of the couch, facing her.
"No problem…" Natalie braced herself and hissed through her teeth in pain once Jack punctured her skin. She was breathing heavily by the time he finished, but seemed otherwise okay.
He quietly threw the needle and the rest of the string away, grabbing a clean shirt from a dresser near the bed and tossing it over to her.
"Might be a bit big, but it's better than nothing."
Natalie nodded and pulled the shirt on. As expected, it came just about to her knees, but as Jack had said, it was definitely better than nothing. "Um… thanks, by the way. For everything."
Jack just shrugged in response. "You needed help. It ain't your fault you were thrown into this shithole."
"You don't need to be modest. You coulda just left me there to die, but you dragged my sorry ass here instead." Natalie rolled up the bottom of the shirt a bit so it wouldn't be so long. "I just want to thank you for that, yeah?"
He shrugged in response. "Your welcome, I guess. It wasn't that hard."
Natalie nodded and lay down, hugging her stomach to try and ease some of the pain so she could sleep. She figured it wouldn't be too bad since she didn't often have pain meds for period cramps in her ship either, so she was used to it. That didn't make it much easier to do, though.
"Try and lay on your side," he said helpfully. "That'll ease up the pressure on the gash."
"Mhmm… it's a lot like bad period cramps, honestly. Do you have any pillows?" Natalie asked. There was a strategy she used for cramps that sometimes worked, and she figured she might as well give it a try for this. She moved onto her side, still holding her stomach.
He nodded, walking back after a few minutes with about 3 or 4 pillows. "How do you want me to set them up?" he asked, standing next to the couch patiently.
"Oh, I only really need the one. I'm testing something." Natalie put one of the pillows between her knees. "Huh, whadda ya know? Cramp relief techniques work for stomach wounds. I don't know whether to be excited or depressed, honestly… another pillow would be nice, though." She accepted one more for her head and lay down again.
He shrugged and just dumped the rest of the pillows on her prone body. "Do you want some sweet tea or coffee or4 anything?"
"Nah, I'm good… thanks, though…" Natalie closed her eyes, trying to sleep, a task which she eventually managed. She looked rather peaceful when sleeping, and much more innocent than she liked to think she was.
He shrugged, heading back to the kitchen and putting a pot of water on the gas stove to boil. He tried to stay as quiet as he could to not bother Natalie. She definitely needed the rest.
Natalie sleep for an hour or two before sitting up and yawning a bit. She combed through her hair with her fingers and looked up to see what Jack was doing.
He was pouring what seemed like a shitload of sugar into a plastic pitcher, whistling to himself to fill up the space the quiet caused. He didn't notice her sit up.
Natalie watched him for a few seconds with a confused expression. "What are you doing…?" She asked, letting her hands fall to her lap.
"Sweet tea," he said over his shoulder, pouring the water boiling in the pot into the pitcher. "Want some?"
"Uh… sure? Aren't you supposed to chill it before you drink it, though?" Natalie tied the back of Jack's shirt that she was wearing so it wasn't completely swallowing her.
"I got ice," he said, retrieving a large plastic spoon and stirring the sugar into the liquid, essentially melting it into the drink.
"…Yeah, okay. That's… whatever." Natalie finished tying the shirt and got the crutches so she could go to the kitchen.
"You don't have to have some," he pointed out, scooping up a bit in the spoon and taking a slurp. "Won't hurt my feelings."
"I'm just saying, I think you're supposed to refrigerate tea before you drink it. If you just put in ice while it's hot, it'll get watered down." Natalie said simply.
"Not if you drink it quick enough," he said, rubbing his nose with his forearm. "You seem to be a bit more patient than I am."
"Depends on what it is. If it's good tea I'm waiting for, then sure." Natalie sat down on one of the kitchen stools.
"Eh, their black tea tastes more like coffee than anything else," he said with a shrug, retrieving a couple of ice cubes. "Gets me through the day, so whatever."
"You do you, I guess." Natalie fidgeted with the shirt. Even when tied up, it was massive on her.
(Should we time skip to when they get picked up? Or do you have something in mind?)
(Well, I was gonna have the ship that was supposed to retrieve him get shot down, and see what would happen from there)
