@WriteOutofTime

I have a few ideas for a buddy cop type roleplay if anyone is interested!

Btw for those who don't know, a buddy cop plot is when two partners with dramatically conflicting personalities solve crimes/ stop the bad guys together.

@Dirt

This sounds really fun, may i?

@WriteOutofTime

Sure! I'll make the character template now

@Dirt

(Oh he sounds cool!
Also I just noticed I said Hogwarts like an idiot. I am a disease to the fandom.)

@WriteOutofTime

(lol I won't judge, i'm not a huge harry potter fan. Any ideas for a plot? I was thinking we could do like a classic cop story, or we could do something like the x files or men in black. which do you prefer? or do you have other ideas?)

@Dirt

(Oof ah, uh men in black sounds fun. I'm up for anything really, lol.)

@WriteOutofTime

(So how does this sound: two rooky detectives get paired together to investigate ~strange~ disappearances in a little town in the midwest. government conspiracy, aliens, etc etc)

@Dirt

(Oh I like that idea! Do you have a monster already in line for that? Or is that TBR? Either or I'm chill.)

@WriteOutofTime

(i was thinking maybe shadowy humanoid aliens who are abducting people to experiment on them, but honestly we could decide later)

@Dirt

(Oooh. Sounds cool! Would we like to start now?)

@WriteOutofTime

(gimme like 10 minutes then i'll be ready!)

@Dirt

(Alrighty. ^^)

@WriteOutofTime

(Finally back! I'll go ahead and start if thats okay?)

@WriteOutofTime

The cramped office space in the department was all he was afforded as one of their youngest detectives. He shared it with four other detectives, all of whom were as messy as he was and thought to spill coffee in as many crevices and on as many keyboards as possible. He typed away at one of his many open cases, filling in details as he mulled over the information he was given. Most of his cases were boring, open and shut cases. He was meant for so much greater but the police captain always ignored his transfer requests.

Just as that thought crossed his mind, a light tap met his ears. He turned towards the door, surprised to come face to face with the captain's assistant. "Detective Argon? The captain wants to see you and Detective Adams in his office. Now."

"Speak of the devil," he mumbled to himself before smiling brightly at the assistant. "Great. On my way." He stood, smoothed his dreads, and headed into the office.

@Dirt

Almost every morning Vash had to force herself into the small office. She wasn't found of small places, but of course her own requests where also denied.

She swirled in her chair when she heard the tapping noise. Vash almost groaned in anoyment. Though many excuse to get out of that small space she'd take. Though she groaned even louder when she heard what they'd said. "Think we're finally getting dropped from the force?" She asked boredly. In fact it seemed like the most exciting thing that could happen to her at this point in life.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso glanced over at the other detective –Detective Adams. He didn't know her very well. They'd only shared the space for a month or so, and she wasn't the type to talk someone's ear off. He'd struck up a conversation or two, but he'd tried to stay in his own lane. Still, he appreciated her wry humor. He smirked, remarking, "I wouldn't be surprised. This department wouldn't know talent if it slapped them in the face."

He led the way down the hall and into the only office space that was actually a room and not a glorified supply closet. The captain wasn't a luxurious man, but he still had all the benefits of being a captain –one of which included a space to call his own. He couldn't help but envy the guy.

@Dirt

Vash offered an awkward smile, along with a chuckle at his response. She didn't know the guy well, but she did try to be nice. Responding to his comments, and trying not to kill the poor guy with sarcasm. After all it had been a thing she picked up over the years. If not the best habit, it was there. Begging to be let out.

She breathed a sigh of relief once out of the small cramped room. Though the halls whereby wide, but long, she still enjoyed them more.

@WriteOutofTime

The two of them paused outside the large office door. Daso knocked lightly on the wood, before a deep, authoritative voice told them to come in. He wandered into the room, his gaze trailing across the cushy interior. Two chairs sat in front of the desk, and one chair, in which the captain sat, was behind it. The room was minimalist in design, with neutral, muted colors and bare walls. The only hint of decoration was the framed photograph on the desk, which was turned to face the captain. He'd never seen what was on the photograph, but he'd never even thought to ask.

The captain motioned for them to take a seat. He was an older man, with graying hair and even grayer eyes, his face lined with worry and age. He held himself rigidly as he regarded both of them. "Thank you for coming. I have an…interesting case for the two of you, if you'd be willing to take it."

@Dirt

(Don't you just love it when you exit before you hit send on your response?)

Vash looked around the room, feeling a comfort at how simple it was. Nothing seemed out of place, nor did it seem chaotic. She breathed a small sigh of relief, even if she was still anxious.
She didn't know why they'd been called in yet. For all she knew they where getting let go. After all to Vash her position did seem almost useless.

"We'll take it." Vash said with out missing a beat. Her response being almost to fast. Mayne she'd have asked what it was first? She looked over at her would be partner-Daso, "that is if you're in?" She asked. If he didn't take it she didn't know if she'd be able to work the case still.

@WriteOutofTime

(lol)
"I'd like to hear what it is, first," he said with something of a smile on his lips at her hastiness. He was desperate to leave as well, and even more desperate to prove himself, but he wanted to know what they were in for before he dove in head first. He turned his gaze towards the captain, nodding. "What is it that we'd be investigating?"

The captain ruffled through his papers, his mouth in a straight line. "You'd be sent to Rider, Nebraska, population of about one thousand. There's been a series of unexplained disappearances that have the local police department scratching their heads. I thought I'd send some of my brightest to solve the case. All the information is in this file." He offered it to Vash. "Read over it together, and give me your answer tomorrow."

@Dirt

"Right, of course." Vash shut up and listened. The though of a case making her jump at the chance. She'd have to learn ta take things slowly if she didn't want to seem like a complete idiot.

"People Disappearing?" Vash asked, rose an eyebrow and completely dismissed what the Caption said about them being some of the brightest.

She took the file, thumbing through it. No matter how quickly she had jumped on the opportunity, she was greatful to have a chance to actually look though it before hand.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso glanced over her shoulder, his eyes studying the missing faces. There didn't seem to be any sort of pattern –young and old people of all genders and races had disappeared without a trace.

"Sounds like a good time," he admitted with a smile in which he tried to hide his enthusiasm and failed. God, what a case. He'd been waiting for something like this for years, ever since he became a detective. "Want to head back to our office to read it?" he asked Vash, rubbing his hands together.

@Dirt

Vash nodded her head, she didn't like people looking over her shoulder. Even if it was just to look at something they both should be looking at. She closed the file her own grin on her face. Yes people going missing is bad, but who's to say they where dead yet? And even if they where dead, it was a case. Something Vash never thought she'd get the chance to do.

She silently cursed at herself for not caring if they where dead or alive, before handing the file to Daso. "Yeah." She finally replied, as she walked out of the office.

@WriteOutofTime

Daso took the file, nodded to the captain, and followed Vash out the room at back down the hall. Part of him dreaded going to a small town –he was too restless to stay in a place like that for very long– but a bigger part of him was excited. For a while, at least, that town would be anything but boring. He thumbed through the file, trying to keep an eye on where he was walking and read at the same time.

"So, Adams," he said, glancing at her. She was very obviously excited for this case, almost too excited. He'd have to warn her about caution at some point. If he ever had the guts to do so. "What are your thoughts on the case?"
