The bartender nodded, pouring the same drinks. He slid the glasses back, taking his coin in payment and he was off again.
Donny wrapped his hand around his glass, eyeing Ollie’s as he took a sip. “Vodka, huh? I’ve never been much of a fan… I’ve always been more of a liquor man. Fan of the spirits.”

@GoblinKing

"Stay true to my roots." He joked, laughing. "I like the strength. Not a fan of the taste others have." He raised his glass slightly. 'The burn? The burn is good."

Donny rolled his eyes. “And you act afraid of fire… Yes, my friend. Burn is good.”
Don polished off the last of the spirit in his glass, shaking his head as he swallowed. He let out a smirk, fidgeting with the smooth cup. “Shall we start heading back? I mean, if we happen to stay for two more rounds, you might be carrying me back.”

@GoblinKing

Oleg knocked the rest of his vodka back, setting it down. "Ah, we should go.. soon it would be too late to return home safely." He stood up, pausing for a moment. "Is it still raining?' He looked at Donny, hoping he would have an answer.

Donny grew silent, listening for any rain on the roof. After a moment, all he received was silence.
“Seems not, but we’ll have to go see for ourselves,” he said with a wink, slithering to the door. His movement was fluid as he turned the handle, letting Oleg out before him.

@GoblinKing

Oleg ducked through the doorway, waiting to feel any rain on his skin. “No. Clear weather, just… dark. There are no street lamps on the dirt path home, are there?” He groaned, kicking at the sidewalk.

@GoblinKing

“Nope,” Don said with a chuckle, sliding past the man and walking down the road. “But hey, you own the night, eh?” he said, looking back. Donny continued walking slowly, giving Oleg a chance to catch up.

@GoblinKing

“Ah, true, true.” His long strides caught him up quickly, soon walking in line with Donny. “ Have you seen … ah. Help me here … Cats. Wild cats in the camp. ”

“No offense to anyone there, but I don’t pay attention to much. If I have, forgive me if I forgot,” Donny mumbled. “Why do you ask?”

@GoblinKing

“These cats try to sneak into my trailer at night. Why mine? I do not know. They are just so irritating.”

Don nodded, fidgeting with the lighter in his pocket. “Well, it is your own fault your trailer smells like meat.”
He smiled. “I guess they’re drawn.”

@GoblinKing

Oleg shook his head, any humor flying right over him. "It's not like meat. To be honest, it smells more like … a bar, or so I hear. Maybe drawn to alcohol.” He glanced around the empty road, looking into a few windows that still had lights on.

Don stepped off of the concrete to the dirt path, keeping on the balls of his feet. “Possibly. But who knows? Perhaps cats and I are more alike than we seem.” He chuckled, slightly looser due to his drinks. He walked more freely, arms swinging and bringing him to more of a saunter.
“Though,” Donny began, glancing up at Oleg. “I’ve always been more of a dog person, eh?”
Don slyly winked at the wolf-man, showing off his crooked smile.

@GoblinKing

"Maybe so." The alcohol didn't seem to affect Oleg much, although it was possible that it just took longer to kick in. Or maybe he had a higher tolerance. "Dog person? I don't understand you." He looked Donny up and down. "But you said you are alike a cat, so which is it? Are you a dog or cat-like person?"

“Cat-like but like dogs,” Donny said, laughing at the mans confusion. “Like a tiger who enjoys the wolves, eh? Run with the pack I choose.”
Don kept walking, almost dancing along the path. He hummed and drummed his hands on his legs, mimicking the piano music that had been playing in the bar.
“Tell me, Ollie,” he said, stopping his personal orchestra. “Which pack do you run with? Tigers or wolves? May be obvious based on your appearance… but what do you feel inside, brother?”

@GoblinKing

"Wolves seem like best answer." He grunted, kicking a small stone, sending it skittering away. "I am not sure about what you mean, though. Which animal am I most like?"

“To me?” Donny asked. “You are wolf through and through, my friend. Which is good.” He nodded, keeping up his smile. “I like wolves.”
Donny looked up, his face brightening as he caught a glimpse of light in the distance. The camp was still far off, but at least somewhat in sight.
He stopped his talking, listening to the natural quietness around him, just dully noting their soft footsteps.

@GoblinKing

“You’re right. Good.” Oleg slid his hands into his back pockets, face hardening to its natural sternness. He was silent for a few minutes, but his voice snapped the quiet like a dry twig. “Have you ever missed your family?”

Donny took a few moments to answer, keeping his eyes locked on the ground.
“Occasionally,” he finally said, although what he was feeling inside was different. He missed them every day. He figured it made him weak, so he developed a habit of pushing the thought out of his mind.
“But why long for a family a million miles away when I have one right here? I mean sure, some may get on my nerves, and others may cease to enjoy my presence. But what else are families for, eh?”
His voice trailed off as he held his arms closer to his sides. “What about you..?”

(We started off being enemies XD how did this happen)

@GoblinKing

(god. i have no idea?? with how hotheaded oleg is if donny just does something mild to piss him off he’ll probably hate him again)

@GoblinKing

“I understand. Me? Only my mother. Being kicked out of home is not good for relations, eh?” He cackled sharply, crossing his arms. “She was good for me. Did not hate me. Not that my father or siblings did, they just.. how do I put this? Hated me, if you understand.” Oleg looked everywhere but Donny. His gaze settled on a lone tree lining the path.

“I am sorry,” Donny said quietly. “I understand. But here, you have people behind you.”
The boy smiled to himself, trying to convince his own mind as well as Oleg. “Here, you have people who care.”

@GoblinKing

“That’s good to hear, dragon.” As they drew closer to the camp, Oleg was distracted by all of the lights from trailers. “…Good to hear.”

Donny strolled into camp, sliding by his pool and picking up one of his dropped lighters and sticking it in his pocket with his three others. He continued on to his trailer, stopping once before opening his door.
He paused, his hand hovering over the handle. “Thank you, Oleg. You’re a good man, y’know?”
Before the man could respond, Donny disappeared inside, shutting the door gently.

@GoblinKing

Oleg nodded silently, ducking through the shadows and slinking off to his own trailer. He shooed a stray cat away from the door before slipping inside. Oleg changed into his pajamas, peeling off his damp clothes and collapsing into his bed.

Donny pulled on his sweats, hopping up onto his bed and crawling out the window. His skinny frame was able to fit through it, and he squirmed up to the top of his trailer, laying on his back. He looked up at the clouded sky, littered with an occasional star. The metal roof felt cold against his skin and he began whistling softly to himself as to not disturb the other members, but still to break the silence.

@GoblinKing

A large cat made its way onto the top of Oleg’s trailer. He could be heard knocking on his ceiling with a broom in an attempt to shoo the cat away. A string of words in muffled Russian could be heard, although they were incredibly hard to hear.

Don laughed to himself as he heard the man. He lifted up his head, watching as the stray cat jumped down from the trailer.
Another cat made its way to the top of Donny’s trailer. As it padded around, the boy sat up, holding out his hand. The cat rubbed against it, it’s auburn fur flowing between his fingers.
Don smiled, laying back down. The cat curled up on his chest, purring happily.
