cliche O/O soulmate rp? (closed)

Glenn sighed, wishing he could figure out how to get his point across without hurting Rykah. He couldn't, so he decided to try and divert the conversation. "We were going to make some tea right? Maybe you can brew some and we can… talk. I mean, I think we should probably get to know each other since we're soulmates."

Rykah nodded, "I already put the kettle on…" he said, his shy nature showing more with every second.

Glenn blinked a few times, looking over to the kettle and noticing that it was definitely on. Was he ever going to stop looking like a dumbass? "I see. Then I guess we skip straight to talking. I'm Glenn… which you already know," Stupid! This was so stupid! "And I'm a witch. Divination mostly, but I dabble in other magic. I read, probably way too much, and… I guess I'm not the best at taking care of myself. How about you?"

"Uhm… I'm usually just around, and living off of my art." He said shyly, "I do have magic abilities that I inherited from my dad, but I don't have a use for them." He shrugged, not sure what else to say.

"Really?" Glenn perked up a bit at the mention of magic. He adored magic and learning about new forms and manifestations of it always put him in a great mood. "What kind? I mean… if that's not too personal."

(Aw, thanks! Can I ask why?)

"Fire based harmony and chaos… It's kinda annoying.." said Rykah softly, the topic not being too uncomfortable.
(Just bored, and wide awake, when I should be sleeping… as usual)

(I also get easily distracted, which is why I take so long)

Glenn perked up considerably as Rykah answered, seeming a bit more relaxed in this conversation. Maybe this was proof that Glenn wasn't a total failure of a soulmate. "Harmony and chaos? That sounds… crazy. I mean, I just have one element and it still knocks me out sometimes. I can't imagine how you manage."

(Yeah, I feel that. I'm actually out for summer break rn so my sleep habits aren't as much of a problem as usual. And I'm having a nice time w/ this, so thanks for keeping it going.)

Rykah shrugged, given the history behind the two types of elements, it shouldn't be possible for me to use either.. but like I said, It's something I inherited from my dad" he said with a shrug,

(No problemo! Though be warned I still have another week of regular class, and then exam week…)

Glenn nodded. His family was a mess of different kinds of magic, so he understood how weird they could get. "When I was little, my mom didn't think I'd have any magic because she didn't either. She always kind of resented me after mine manifested. Oh god, I'm sorry for making this so sad! I-" he was cut off by the whistle of the tea kettle.

(that sucks man! exams are hard, I hope you do really well)

Rykah hummed, "It's okay…" he murmured, getting up to finish making the tea. He carefully handed the other his tea, his wings held tight to his sides.

(I'm not sure that I'll have any trouble with that,)

Glenn cupped his mug of tea happily, savoring the warmth leeching into his hands. The only thing he'd had in weeks was takeout and coffee, so this was basically a tiny cup of heaven. As he sipped at his drink, his hands stopped shaking so much, and he let out a quiet yawn. "I know I've already said it, but thank you. For all of this. I haven't had someone over in ages and talking with you is just… just really nice. I'm glad I got a guy like you as my soulmate."

(good for you! finals week was my own special hell bc I had both my math tests on the same day and I SUCK at algebra)

Rykah smiled, sipping at his tea. "I just can't believe it happened so suddenly." He said shyly.

(Oof… my school does it so there's only one exam per day, and apologies for getting distracted)

Glenn huffed out a laugh. "Me neither. It still doesn't feel real to me. I mean, I've imagined today hundreds of times, and I still can't believe… I mean, to be really honest, I was starting to doubt it would ever happen. You can only hear your words so many times before…" He made a gesture like he was pushing something away from himself.

(nice, we had two a day. And I don't mind, sometimes it's really hard to stay focused.)

Rykah tilted his head curiously, before realizing what he meant, "I guess those are pretty common words…" he said softly.

(Yeah, a couple more posts and I'll probs try to sleep.)

Glenn nodded. "Yeah. Every time I bumped into someone it was like 'are you the one!?' and then the inevitable 'no'. Kinda sucked" Was that too harsh? He didn't want Rykah to feel like he was bitter or anything! In a fit of half exhausted senselessness, he set down his tea and grabbed Rykah's hands in his own. "But I was so happy when I found out you were my soulmate! You're so… so pretty and nice and I'm glad I didn't mess this up."

Rykah couldnt help blushing furiously as the other spoke, wanting to hide behind his wings and hug the other simultaneously.

Glenn blushed as Rykah did, both amazed that he'd been so tooth rottingly sweet and embarrassed that he'd said that to someone who he'd met a couple of hours ago. He hadn't been this affectionate with anyone! Dimly he realized he was still holding Rykah's hands, which he dropped immediately. The world was starting to get pleasantly hazy, hazy enough that Glenn could just fall asleep right here.
