Miles shook his head. She's just crazy….. He then picked up some book and began to read some of it. I just need to pass the day along….
Cloak and Dagger (O/O)
Emmeline heard the sound of thunder in the distance and she sighed, jumping in the puddle one more time before walking inside again. She did her best to wring her hair and clothes out before walking to her bed and grabbing the clothes that she was originally wearing. She darted to the bathroom and changed quick, hanging her soaked clothes up and walking back to her bed.
Miles glared at her. "….Why on earth did you just go back outside?" He stood up and went into the kitchen, seeing a nice clear trail of mud all through the house.
Although it wasn't much, Miles was infuriated. "Emmiline!!!!" He barked.
Emmeline jumped slightly walking into the kitchen slowly "Yeah?" She glanced at the floor and immediately knew what she did, but she wanted to see what Miles was going to do.
Miles gave her a death stare, his line of sight peircing her own eyes. “….What the hell is this?” He pointed at the mud trail. “I give you nice hospitality and food and shelter and you repay it by tracking mud all over the floor!!” I’ll give her this childish talk if I have to… if it’ll set her straight. “As long as you keep this kind of stuff up, you’ll find yourself on a route straight back onto the streets. Am I clear!!?”
Her eyes widened and she nodded quickly, focusing on the floor in front of herself instead of him, "What do you want me to clean it up with?" She asked quietly, trying not to think about how much this reminded her of living with her aunt and uncle.
“Anything it takes to get it off my floor and out of my house,” He growled. “And don’t think that I didn’t see you right after you came in…. You’ll be washing those clothes too — my clothes.” Miles folded his arms and planted his feet down. “And one more thing… I’ll be the one dictating whether you’re done or not. So I’ll be watching your every move.” As much as it must stink to do this kind of stuff and that she came off the street, she knows better than to do this.
She nodded again and grabbed a small towel, starting to clean. She avoided looking up so she focused on the floor, shaking ever so slightly but hiding it like an expert.
(I bet she shook, lol)
Miles sat himself in a chair, crossing his legs and his arms still folded. I’m not tryina be mean, I’m tryina make her responsible and suffer consequences…. He watched her scrub the floor, and it didn’t please him the slightest that she was working, however, it did please him that his floor was getting cleaned.
Emmeline continued to clean, finishing most of the kitchen fairly quickly. She looked up for a second and locked eyes with Miles, looking back down immediately.
Miles gave her a strange look. “What’re you looking at me for?” Don’t stop…. But at least the kitchen is done…. but then she needs to clean the bathroom and my clothes off…. He shook his head. Like I said, I’m not trying to be mean…
She just shook her head, finishing the kitchen and going to the bathroom to start cleaning. The floor was worse here, considering that she had stepped around quite a lot.
Miles didn’t bother following Emmiline into the bathroom, since he trusted her that she was doing the work he told her to do. I hope she gets this all done tonight…. then we can probably go into town and eat at a tavern for dinner or something…. just to switch things up a little from the usual soup or venison…. I do have the money, after all…. and the time….
Emmeline sighed when he didn't follow her and she smiled weakly, still cleaning quickly. She started humming to herself as she worked, hoping to make the time go by faster.
Miles' eyelids grew heavy and he suddenly snapped awake. "Wha–?" We didn't even have dinner yet and I'm getting tired?… I mean I did work quite hard today…. I suppose…..
"I'm done with the floors, I'll go clean the clothes now." She said softly, coming back into the kitchen and grabbing the clothes. She looked out the window and sighed again, seeing that it was still raining quite heavily outside.
"Happy to hear that, Said Miles, standing up and stretching. I could possibly go out and get some clothes of her own to get dirty…. He arched his back and headed into his bedroom, sitting on his bed.
Emmeline looked over at him and then down at the clothes. "Do you want me to go clean them in the stream like before?" She asked, still quite softly.
“Like I said, I don’t care what you do,” Miles said, delicately closing his eyes. “As long as it gets clean.” He crossed his legs and waggled his foot a little. Just get the work done….
"Ok then, I'll be right back." She braced herself for the rain and stepped outside, quickly and carefully walking to the stream. The rain washed most of the mud off of the clothes as she walked but she still cleaned then in the stream quickly before running back to the house. She stayed right inside the door when she got back, not wantin to have to clean the floors again.
Miles glared at her through the doorway to the bedroom. "Now take your shoes off this time and hang the clothes up." At least she did the more sensible thing…. He let out a sigh, having it end with a low growl of frustration. Hopefully, this is an one-time thing.
Emmeline nodded and slipped her shoes off, hanging the clothes up quietly. "Now what do you want me to do?" She asked softly, waiting in the doorway of the bedroom.
"Nothing," Miles answered simply, swinging his foot. "At least for now. I plan to go out and do some… 'shopping' tomorrow, if you're interested…." For some good stuff…. And for the usual.
(I'm thinking that something major should happen soon, idk though)
"Sure, sounds good." She said, walking over to her bed and sitting on the edge of it, kicking her legs. She sighed quietly and laid down on the bed, lightly closing her eyes.
(Do you jus wanna time skip to morning? And yes I have something planned for a big happening, but it might be a little bit.)
(Timeskip sounds good)
(Okey)
Miles was up a bit early that morning, cooking up some food. It was oddly hot, and he was getting a bit annoyed about how much he was shirtless around his guest. I figure she's used to it by now. He finished up and served it on some plates.
Emmeline was laying in bed still, humming softly to herself as she sat up. She rolled to the edge of her bed and rubbed her eyes, making her way to the kitchen for breakfast. "Mornin'" She said to Miles, summoning a small smile to her face.
"Good morning," He gave a plate off to her. "I plan to head out this morning to shop and tomorrow night for more stealing kinda stuff…." Miles ate his food quickly and put the plate in the bucket to be washed.
"Ok," She took the plate and started eating, quickly finishing the food. She put her plate in the bucket with his before going over to the clothes from last night and patting them to see if they were dry. A few were still damp and Emmeline left them up, taking the other ones down to fold them.
