Kydah narrowed her eyes, twirling her s[ear a bit nervously. "Yes. The ocean is nervous, she is making us all nervous too." Kydah projected, her mouth barely moving as she did so. She still looked around, wincing every time a piece of sea debris brushed up against her smooth tail. She hated being here, but the mer had driven out the sirens so much that they hand ended up here, a hundred meters from a trash island. Well, maybe that was an exaggeration.
Oona made a little humming sound in response, her own eyes darting around the empty waters before them. Never one to admit she was nervous, Oona remained still and quiet, praying to the sea that no one was coming for the treasure. She adjusted the grip on her trident before addressing Kydah once more. "I'll increase border guards and patrols for the time being, but I want you back at the Cove. The treasure is most important." She paused, looking up towards the glistening ripples where the sea met the sky and sunshine. "I need my strongest there, something tells me it's being hunted again." Oona flicked her graceful tail in agitation. She'd been protecting it most of her life, when will the mer and humans realize that it was a siren treasure? One that could not be stolen so easily.
