Jaxxon looked at Olivia in shock that someone had just spoken to him. He got over it quickly, though, and just snorted and smirked at her. "Yeah, sure. Whatever you say." He told her. He turned to leave again, fully prepared to go home and sleep 16 hours straight.
Jaxxon turned back to the woman, still smirking. "Look, lady, I could care less." He said calmly. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere I need to be."
Jaxxon almost laughed. He had never once touched ale, wine, or any type of drink here at the tavern. He was only here for a meeting with a friend, granted he didn't think they were friends anymore. "Take a big whiff, miss knight." He said casually. "Do you smell any ale on my breath?" And with that he turned back towards the entrance to the tavern, only to find the two drunks fighting again.
"You two again, seriously?" He asked in disbelief. Hearing a new voice, the fight stalled and all heads involved turned to face him. "I'm already pretty pissed off, and here you two are, preventing me from getting the sleep I so desperately need right now." He sighed, showing a face of fake disappointment. "Guess I'll have to end this fight myself." He murmured, walking towards the two. Without any hesitation, he grabbed them both by the hair on the nape of their necks, and smashed their heads together. They dropped to the floor, unconscious.
Before leaving, Jaxxon sent a cheery smile and a wave to the knight he had talked to. "Goodbye Miss Knight! I hope you have a good night threatening drunks!" And he was out the door.
Valenis turned around to look at the commotion and brawlers. She ducked as a mug flew over her head. Why did everybody need to get drunk and fight here?
There probably were better taverns to go to, so it was on Valenis for being here anyway.
Her eyes flitted to where her arrows were, and she watched a pair of brawlers got closer to them.
She didn’t shout out knowing her voice would be drowned, but she got up quickly. Arrows were an important part of her weaponry, and she didn’t want to have to buy more.
She watched another person slam two of the brawlers and knock them out.
“Aw man … I should leave now.”
Valenis said a sort of farewell to the barmaids and swung by to quickly grab her arrows.
Amatoro made his way to the exit, using his magic to deflect some projectiles that were flying towards him. He sidestepped some brawlers and tucked his book safely inside one of his pockets.
Jaxxon eyed Olivia in suspicion. When he spoke, he used his normal voice, not the joking tone he had used in his previous conversation with the woman. "You had me at 'kill the bitch'." Jaxxon let his face meld back into the cocky smirk and gave a mocking bow. "My name is Jaxxon Kim, kill-for-hire at your service. I'm an assassin, so it wouldn't be a problem for me to help. Plus, the Evil King kinda killed my aunt, so I'm on board." He said all of this with a remarkable casualty as if he were talking about the weather.
Jaxxon smiled handing out his hand for a handshake. "That's fine with me. We have a deal?" he asked proudly.
Valenis looked over to a girl who had seemingly waved her over.
She slung her arrows over her shoulder, and approached the girl with curiosity. What would this person expect from her?
She looked across to the person who stood next to the girl, and offered a smile to the pair.
“Do you need something from me?”
Amatoro raises one of his eyebrows and walks over. "What's the matter?"
"No," Amatoro said. "Twelve pounds for a month-long expedition is too little."
"Forty pounds of gold." Amatoro said.
Valenis only gaped like a fish and nodded. Forty pounds of gold was nearly enough to purchase her entire life and all her possessions. With that kind of wealth, she could get even better arrows too. Plus, she’d also get to go on an adventure with other people and probably get to travel around.
