"Logan," Toru said, firmly now, "since you made a Contract with me, it brings attention to you. It's not your price to pay, Logan- they just don't want me to have you. It gives me more power if I do." Toru glanced at the bats, then to Logan again.
"Don't make me, Logan," he said slowly, hand raising. He'd take control again if he was given no choice.
Logan quickly grabbed one of the metal bats and flung himself out of bed towards the closet door, putting as much distance as he could between him and Toru as possible in the small bedroom.. "So this is what it's about, gaining more power." He concluded, ignoring the threat. He'd fight Toru's control too, even if it broke him in the end. "That's what we are into you, a means of gaining power. Of course, why would I ever think I'd be so.ething else other than power." He smiled sadly and shook his head. "You can protect me or whatever from there. You don't need to come any closer."

Toru kept a close eye on Logan, but he didn't move to be any closer. At least the man wasn't trying to beat him with the bat.
"Logan," Toru said softly, looking to the other, "Every demon has their reason for making Contracts with humans. Mine is to ensure I'm able to protect myself, and the humans under my care. That includes you too, you know. I'm not just going to use you." Toru was keeping his tone soft, looking at Logan with nothing but a soft apology. His pupils contracted into slits, though, when he sensed something Logan couldn't. He pushed himself off the bed, pulling Logan away from the closet door as a clawed hand shot out of it. Toru hissed at the hand, hugging Logan tight to his chest.
"how do I know you're not lying?!" He yelled, unable to keep calm anymore. How was he supposed To when demon's were in his life now? "I don't know anymore…" He shrunk away from Toru and ran a hand through his hair, glancing up when he noticed Toru's eyes change. He yelled out unsurprised when he was pulled close to Toru and peeked over his shoulder. "What the hell is that?!" He demanded, pointing at the hand with his bar, ready to hit it if it came any further. It was…real…all.of this was real…demon's were after him…no, no that wasn't right but that didn't make it any less true.

The hand disappeared back into the closet with a hiss of its own, Toru glaring at the door.
"That was another demon," he said, still holding Logan to his chest. He continued to hold Logan protectively to himself as he retreated back to the bed, pulling Logan into his lap. He was still on edge, glaring around as if daring any other to try to grab at Logan again. He slowly relaxed as nothing happened, not letting go even still.
"I… I know you have no reason to trust a word I say," Toru said softly, looking around with diligent eyes, "But… I do want to protect you. From that, from the dangers other demons will try to put you through."
He nodded slowly, eyes glued to the closet, even as he was pulled into Toru's embrace. He dropped the bat once in bed and clung to Toru, not caring if he was the same as the demon in his closet. Right now, if Toru was offering safety, Logan would gladly take it, no matter the cost later. "Alright." He breathed, swallowing thickly before shakily shifting in Toru's lap to block out any veiw of the rest of the room, face burird in Toru's chest. He'd be eternally grateful if he didn't have to see another one of those demons ever again for the rest of his life

"I've got you… I'm not going to let anyone hurt you." Toru tucked Logan's head under his chin, keeping a close eye on the room around them since Logan couldn't anymore. He began to gently rub the human's back, arms still around him tightly.
Things settled down again, no other demons appearing. Toru still held Logan close, though, humming very softly to help the other calm. He also started to rub Logan's back more, pulling the blankets up around them to hide Logan away.
The humming, along with the continued contact and warmth eventually calmed Logan down enough to allow him to fall into a light sleep. Every slight movement or car rushing by outside the window stirred him awake well into the early hours of the morning but at least he managed to get some rest, even if it was for a few hours at a time.

Toru didn't move an inch as Logan slept, always there to start humming again when Logan would wake up. In the morning, Toru still didn't move, stealing as much sleep for Logan as he could. The demon closed his own eyes at some point, his hair falling over his shoulders like a curtain in front of Logan as the two sat together on the bed. The demon was asleep himself when the morning came, arms still tight around the human's waist to prevent any other demon from thinking Logan wasn't protected.
Logan slowly stirred away, the sunlight from the window streaming in to illuminate the room in a warm glow. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes, seeing that he was resting against Toru. The memories of the previous night flooding back all at once. He looked around his room, fearing that he was surrounded by demons ready to pounce the moment he moved, but nothing happened. He released a sigh of relief and glanced up at Toru's features, hesitantly brushing aside his long hair.

Toru didn't wake up, but he did slowly lean into the hand brushing aside his hair. The demon let out a small humming breath, eyes fluttering some before opening.
"Good morning," he said softly, still holding Logan close. "Did you manage to get at least a little bit of rest?" Toru's own hand went to Logan's cheek, looking him over to make sure he was okay. They still had the rest of the day to go before he was safe to leave Toru's side.
He nodded slightly, a barely audible 'yes' escaping his lips. He slowly traced the curves of Toru's face, following his jawline before moving to trace his cheekbones and temple. Logan blinked a few times and pulled his hand back "S-sorry, uh, uhm…want breakfast? Do demons eat breakfast? Do you eat at all? Sorry that's probably rude…I can make breakfast even if you don't eat!" He reassured, slowly shifting off of Toru's lap and nudging aside his book and previously dropped bat.

Toru hummed softly as Logan traced his hand over the demon's head, smiling as he leaned into the touch. The demon chuckled softly as Logan became flustered, nodding some.
"Breakfast sounds good," he said, keeping close to Logan even as he left the demon's lap.
"And yes, I eat." Toru was still smiling, gently setting his hand on Logan's head. He let his lazy smirk come to his lips, moving his hand down to hold Logan's. He examined his mark there for a moment, thumb brushing over it.
Logan blushed softly as Tiru touched his hand, "it's beautiful," he murmured, "do all your contracts get one?" He asked curiously, gently pulling at Toru's sleeve to get him out of bed and to the kitchen. "Anything you want in particular? I'm not a great cook so be warned but I wouldn't say I'm terrible."

"All do, yes," Toru said, smiling still as he touched the mark. "If you see anyone with it somewhere on their body, they are contracted to me." Toru let Logan pull him out of the room, keeping close. He wasn't going to be leaving Logan's side until the day was over. He hummed some as he thought, then shook his head.
"Anything you make will be fine." The demon smiled some, letting his thumb trace over the mark on Logan's hand again.
"how many are contracted to you? Must be a lot if I'd be able to recognize one just walking around here." He said, his flush remaining as Toru's light touch brushed along his hand. He nodded slightly as he made his way into the kitchen, his lips bunching to the side as he tried to decide on something to make. "How bout pancakes? I have a bit of the box mix left and some fruit we can mix together."

"Just ten," Toru said with a soft chuckle. He watched Logan as the human thought, nodding some.
"Pancakes will work." The demon stayed by Logan's side, looking around the kitchen to make sure they were safe. He wouldn't be leaving Logan's side any time soon, though, so there should be no repeat of what happened the night before.
"Would you like some help? Keep in mind I won't really be able to leave your side at all."
"uh sure, you can start preparing the berries while I mix the box pancake mix." He said, finding some blueberries, bananas and strawberries in the fridge. "Knives are in the lower drawer." He said, finding a bowl and spatula

"Alright then." Toru hummed some as he reached over to grab a knife from the drawer, pulling the berries and fruit to himself to start cutting. He made sure to keep by Logan's side the entire time, even if it inconvenienced him. There were too many doors, and too many ways for another demon to come in. He looked around on occasion, offering Logan a smile. He was safe as long as Toru was there.
Logan arched an eyebrow and gently rested his hand on Toru's arm, offering a small smile. "Hey, I'm okay." He reassured, despite looking around as well. Any door, any window, hell even one of the pots could house a demon. "Uh, so tell me about yourself, how'd you become a contractor?" He asked, trying to distract them both.

"As long as I'm here," Toru agreed with Logan tried to reassure him. He gently patted Logan's hand, looking down at his work.
"Well, the first thing I had to do was die," he said, chuckling some despite the memories of hellfire the thought brought up.
"O-oh…" Logan glanced away momentarily, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Of course Toru had to die before becoming a demon.
"Do I want to know why you got sent Hell?" He asked softly after a few moments, taking his time to mix the pancake batter.

"No idea myself. I don't remember my old life." Toru looked over, unaffected by his own words. "It's nothing to feel bad about, you know. I'm content with this life I lead now." He hummed softly, gently bumping Logan's shoulder with his arm.
"so you don't want to know about your previous life? Obviously not about the death and stuff but what about the people you knew?" He asked finding it hard to actually wrap his mind around Toru having another life. "It must've been hard for you when you first came back."

"Not really, no. I have this life, after all, and I'm pretty content with it." Toru looked over, seeing how Logan was struggling with the idea a bit.
"I was bad enough to get into hell is all I know. It wasn't hard at all."
Logan nodded slowly, still not completely convinced but also not wanting to bother Toru with more questions about his previous life. "So did you always look like this?" He asked, waving a hand to Toru "surely it must be hard to blend in? I mean unless you're at a convention." He laughed lightly "what I mean to say is, isn't it hard to not draw attention towards yourself if you wanted to keep being a demon to yourself?"

"You do know I spend most of my time in Hell, right?" Toru laughed some, gently nudging Logan with his elbow. He hummed as he finished up what he was doing to help with breakfast, setting it down.
"No one cares there. The only time I really come up here is for contracts."
"ah, well until now, no. I thought you moved freely between Hell and Earth." He laughed lightly at being nudged and took the cut berries, adding them to the mix and folding them together.
"Well, I'd no one cares then why not stay up here? Or are you not allowed?" He asked, turning on the stove and putting a large pan on the burner

"I mean, I can move freely between," Toru admitted. "I just don't want to deal with the hassle of disguising myself. It's much easier to just spend my time in hell with my contracted souls who've finally died." Toru glanced at Logan, then back to their breakfast preparations.
"oh I see." He nodded and took a deep breath, hoping to calm himself. He smiled softly as he poured in the batter, trying his best to make them of equal size so they cooked evenly
