Hello, my dears. I have a prompt for you classic literature fans out there, that I hope we can expand on.

Take any book, play, or other story media you like of the classical variety, and pick whatever character interests you (sans the Picture of Dorian Gray, for reasons that will be obvious in a minute, or are possibly already obvious from the title). For some reason or another, they find themselves in trouble. So they run away. And all of them meet a strange man who offers sanctuary at an academy built from his very own blood and bone. He gives you one rule, whispered so softly you barely hear it. It's different for every person, and when broken, always ends in tragedy. So you don't break your rule, it's all fine. But you start to wonder what would happen if you do.

Dorian Gray is a man that has many skeletons in his closet, some of them still twitching, still fresh blood. You hope you do not become one of them.

No templates! I prefer to develop characters in-roleplay!

Anyways, pick your character and I will list them below.

Have fun.

I'm interested, and would love to have the role of Edmond Dantès (aka The Count of Monte Cristo)!

I need to reread the novel though.

To @SupernaturalSyGuyStillShipsWale, please send me a writing sample. To @Altar_Ego, that book is a bit too recent for the theme I'm going for, can you pick something a bit older?

@SupernaturalSyGuyStillShipsWale you're in. Hopefully we can get a few more people to join before we start.

great, could i be Frey/Freya from old Norse myths? i've got a great character and stuff worked out.

I'm going to be busy for the next few days…. Plus I want to re-read The Count of Monte Cristo first.

Preferably not a deity, please, unless they somehow lost their powers.
