William bit down on his lip, knowing he asked a far too personal question. Seeing Amber like that… it was enough to send a spark of anger through him. “Take all the time you need,” he said softly. “We’re in no rush.”

“I… slept with a lot of guys in high school,” she murmured. “I’d be with one guy for about a week before moving on to another… Until one guy. He was different, I though.
