Ethan chuckled. "I promise my intention are nothing but pure, this time." He teased. "Well, laying down isn't going to help keep you awake now is it? Try sitting up. Maybe reading a book if that will help. Or maybe try sketching some more."

"this time? ahh I knew it." he winked and sat up "damn, I think I dropped my sketchbook in the ally way….I'll get it tomorrow. Reading will get me dizzy again." He sighed and slid back down into his previous position "Tell me more about yourself," He said, twisting to face ethan. "I'm bored and can't sleep. This is the best I can do."
Ethan smirked at him. He ran his hand through his wet hair. "I go to self defense classes occasionally. Hence why you're here and not where ever those guys would have dumped you. I don't have any family, at least none that I know of."
"probably the garbage.." he muttered "that's cool, that you take self defense classes. I might pick up the hobby if this keeps happening." He breathed a laugh and flick his hair out of his face "so you never knew your parents?" He akswd, gaining a gentler tone, knowing that it was always a sensitive topic to talk about with some people
"No. I lole to think that they're doing okay now, becasue if they gave me up, they couldn't have been in the right place to raise a child." Etha shrugged. "Enough about me, why dont you tell me about you."
He nodded, the idea seemed legit he had to admit. "Me? Uhm well. Normal parents I guess. Mom was a a smart as dad was adorably dorky. When I came out that I was bi, they were fine with it annnnd now they live in Florida in retirement."
Ethan reached a hand out and fingered his hair. "What got you into sketching?" He asked, suddenly very distracted.
Raz stiffened at the interaction but eventually gave in and nudged into Ethans hand "escaping." He muttered softly, not able to look Ethan in the eyes "I needed to leave the mindset that everything was cute things and rainbows. So I started writing down everyday things I saw. Things I didn't notice before hand before I began to pay attention. A man touching his wife in a way she didn't seem to like, the bruises on a little girls arms and the tears held back by a fake smile. Little things. Then I figured that all these hell's people lived everyday could be resolved via writing a different ending to their story. I know I could do more to help those people but this helps me, to not go insane everyday because of this hell. These demons that walk among us." He glanced up at Ethan and blushed "sorry, I go off on tangents a lot…"
Ethan supposed that they had a lot more in common than he originally thought. He understood those demons. He took care of them in the dark. He vrought justice to their victims when justice could be served through the law. It felt good, watchong the life drain out of their eyes. Their lives were in his hands, and he made sure they went out quickly, but not without suffering befpre hand. He hadn't been caught yet. He doubted anyone really wanted to catch him. He did what no one else could. He killed the bad guys. Ethan brusjed his hair off his forhead. "Don't apologize. I like listening. I'm a bartender remember." He cocked a small smile.
He smiled softly and positioned his arm under his head to rest comfortably. After a while of silence, Raz spoke again "Not all of its hell and demons. Some of its little pieces of heaven. I remember when I was a kid, mom used to make the best waffles in the whole world. She used to make this syrup to go along with them. Some honey, some syrup and this flower that made it taste so darn sweet that even after a few hours of eating you could still taste the residue on your lips."
Ethan smiled. "Your mother sounds like a wonderful person." He smiled. He had never known what it was like to be a family. He grew up in an orphanage before he got kicked out and had to learn how to love on his own. He was homeless for a while. One night he saw a man trying to force hinself on a woman and he just snapped. He killed him and tomd the woman to run. From that night forward, he got a job and leanred hpw to fight, what the best ways to kill were.
He nodded "she is." he glanced up at Ethan and sighed "you are a mystery, Ethan. And I will find out the secrets you hide." He grinned, reaching up and lightly running a hand through Ethan's hair, twirling a piece between his fingers.
Ethan smiled. He tilted his head into Raz's hand, humming quietly. His fingers felt like heaven. "Take as much time as you'd like." He wasn't afraid that he would find out his secret. He wouldn't let anyone come xlose to figuring out who he was. But ge was drawn to the man in his bed somehow.
He laughed lightly, massaging his head lightly "won't take long, just a few background checks here and there, maybe ask a few of the locals. Get some intell." She glanced at him, his eyes glittering "not much work honestly." he ran his hand down his jawline
Ethan laughed. "Oh? Do you have connections to do that?" He teased with an eyebrow raised. He tiled his head into Raz's hand. He placed his hand on his wrist. "You shouldn't start something you don't intend to finish." He warned.
"I might have a few connections here and there." He muttered softly with a knowing smile "I fully intend to start and finish whatever this is." He challenged back with a tilt of his head
Ethan smiled. "I lied. My intentions aren't so good." He leaned down and captured Raz's lips with his.
He gasped, trying to back away but was trapped by the headboard and Ethan. An involuntary groan escaped him as he gave in to his desires, wrapping his arms around Ethan's neck. He finally managed to pull away a few inches "Don't do this…"
Ethan pulled his head away and stroked his cheek gently. "I won't. I will never force you into anything. Just this, if you'll let me." He murmured.
He shook his head "That's not what I meant, but yes that too. Don't play with my feelings. I'm not going to be here today and not tomorrow. I might as well leave now if you're not even going to remember my name tomorrow morning." He watched him carefully, ready to leave if Ethan made any unwanted move, headache or not.
Ethan sighed and traced his jawbone with the tip of his finger. "I have taken countless lovers to bed but I remember them all. None deserved to just be a notch in my belt. No one deserves that sort of disrespect. If you let me have you, I will always remember you. How can I not?"
He stared at him skeptically "always remember me?"he Shook his head and laughed "you talk as if this will last a couple nights and that's it. You'll move on eventually so why try at all." He made a move to get up, trying to nudge Ethan off of him
Ethan relented and moved to the side. He rested his head in his palm, watching Raz. "And what do you want hm? A relationship?" He was curious to know.
"have you ever wanted someone so much that you see no one else? You love that person to the fullest even when you think you can't anymore? Someone to protect, to call your own? I hope to be that person one day to someone." He sat at the edge of the bed and glared at the floor, feeling pathetic. Why couldn't he just be happy for a few hours with Ethan then move on? "If your just going to play around with me and my feeling until your tired then I want no part in your little game. You talk about not treating people with disrespect, yet Everytime you sleep with one of them you cause more harm than good."
Ethan sat up as well, watching him. "Im not playing a game. Every person I've ever slept with knew what they were getting into with me. It was mutually agreed upon with both of us that it would never be anything more than that night. I have never done anything that someone didn't want." At least when it came to his lovers that was. Now hos secret night job, that was another story. "No one I have been with has sought a relationship with me. At least not a permanent one. But if that is what you want from me I am willing to try." He spoke truthfully. He had never been in a relationship, hadn't thought about it. He had no desire to be in one before.
He glanced over his shoulder at him "Like you, I don't want to make you do anything you don't want to. If you want I can leave right now and both of us can forget meeting each other." It wasn't his best idea and he'd rather not have that happen since he really like Ethan but if thats what it came to he would accept it. "I'm willing to try."
"I don't want you to go." Ethan said quietly. He had never wanted anyone stay as much as he wanted Raz to stay in that moment. "I wamt you stay, if that's what you want."
He nodded "very much." He sat back in the bed and tilted his head to look at Ethan., Taking in his features
Ethan let out a breath of relief. He reached out to carress his face. "You're very handsome." He saod softly.
He nudged into his hand and smiled softly "I could say the same about you. But I'm a writer so that's not very creative."
