(thanks! It's Matthew Clavane, by the way. Alright!)
"For who could love a monster?" // One-On-One // CLOSED
Lys stood in his shack, looking out the window. It was the same as always, just an empty field. He liked it, because it meant that he was alone. He turned around, his wings knocking an umbrella over. He didn't even care.
Casey went out for a walk. It was their day off from work, and they wanted to get outside. And not in the city, either, where half the corners and the alleyways reminded them of their past, of what they had done to survive.
Lys sighed and walked outside, his light blue skin closely matching the sky. He spread his wings and flew up to the top of the building, sitting on the roof of his shack. This was calming.
Casey kept walking, heading out of the city and into the countryside outside of it. Their hair was tucked back in a bun, a few messy strands escaping out.
Lys lied on his back, wings spread out. Normally he would be painting, or even going for a walk around the field near his shack. But for some reason, he didn't feel like that. And he didn't know why.
Casey continued walking, eventually arriving at a field. He stopped, looking out into it with a faint little smile on his face.
A butterfly landed on one of Lys' horns, and he smiled as he looked at it. Animals didn't care what he looked like. They just accepted him. Why couldn't the other humans realise that?
(so how exactly should they meet?)
Casey continued to walk, a faint smile on his face as he went.
(maybe casey stumbles upon the shack and sees Lys on top? i mean, you can't miss him. he's really tall, has blue skin, has horns on his head and has giant wings)
Lys sighed again and sat up, the butterfly flying away. He looked out at the field, with its colourful wildflowers and luscious green grass. He looked to the freshwater river just beside the shack. He always marveled at how nature flourished without any other humans interfering.
(lol alright!)
They looked around for a moment, then hopped the fence and headed into the fields. They figured they couldn't do much harm, and they just wanted to walk for a while. They weren't going to hurt anything.
Lys hopped down and walked to the river, cupping his hands and taking a sip from the water. Then he hopped in, the water coming up to his waist. It was calming. Yet boring. Because it was all he ever did.
Casey kept walking, eventually following the sound of water. Streams or rivers were always lovely, even when he wasn't quite sure where to find them.
Lys sighed again and carefully pulled his shirt off, tossing it onto the grass. His converses were already on the grass, completely dry. He didn't really care if his pants got wet.
Casey continued to walk. Eventually, they could see the shine of water through the trees, and knew that they were nearing their destination.
Lys let out a yell of frustration. If he wasn't cast out by all of humanity, he wouldn't have been stuck in this god awful place. He let out another yell, kicking the water.
Casey heard someone shout, and frowned, heading towards the sound. "Hello?" They called out, unable to see anything yet.
Lys continued to kick the water, hard as he can. "WHY! DO! HUMANS! HATE! ME! FOR! NO! REASON?!"
They exited the trees, sucking in a breath when they spotted Lys. An alien? They wondered for a moment, biting their lip a little. "Hello?"
Lys let out a shout of fear when he hear someone else talking to him, his wings lifting him into the air instinctively. He floated back down, fully cautious of this new person. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
They blinked, eyes wide as they watched Lys. "Well- I was just out for a walk, and…I heard a voice…" He replied slowly, still staring at Lys.
"Why are you here?" Lys asked. He stared at the boy. "No one comes out here, ever. Some people know I'm out here and don't want to know me. So what are you doing here?"
(obviously lys doesn't know that casey is non-binary)
Casey blinked. "I…was out for a walk." They replied, looking at Lys still. "I-I didn't know you were here."
"What do you mean, you didn't know I was here?" He thought for a minute. "Well, I suppose if you didn't know I was here, that's good. That's the point."
They blinked, watching Lys. "I really didn't know." They said slowly.
"Well, you have to know. My shack is kilometres away from the closest civilisation. No one walks this far to get here. Why are you even out here?"
"I'm out here because I wanted to go for a walk and get out of the city." they explained, watching Lys.
Lys stared at the boy, taking in his features. He wasn't aware of the social norms, so male and female were the only genders he even knew. "You're…you're not scare of me?"
Casey blinked, shaking their head. "No. Why would I be? So long as you aren't going to hurt me, I see no reason to be."
"But…I'm a monster? I'm not normal! I'm a monster! Everyone hates me! Every single person I've met has tried to kill me! That's why I'm out here! That's why I'm hiding!"
