Atlas nodded ever so slightly. "You're right." He said softly before letting go of Rowan's hands and turning to his younger brothers. "You two better hurry up as well. The bus'll be her in 5 minutes." He smiled and left the kitchen, grabbing his backpack from where he dropped it on the floor.
"We walking?" Rowan asked, stretching a bit and yawning. "I'm fine with anything, to be honest."
"Nah, we'll take my car," Atlas said, opening the front door and reaching out his hand to take Rowan's. He had slung his backpack over his shoulder and a bright smile was on his lips.
"Alright." Rowan smiled softly and allowed Atlas to drag him along. He tossed both their bags into the back and buckled himself into the passenger side of the car.
Atlas ran around to the driver's side of the car and got it. He buckled himself and started the car. There was a soft smile on his lips, simply happy to spend all of this time with Rowan.
"Yaaaay, school…" Rowan sighed softly, laying his head back against the seat. "You ready to go, babe?"
Atlas giggled. Before putting the car into drive, he leaned over and kissed Rowan. "Now I am." The soft smile grew as he turned to the front and started on their way to the school. He could see the school bus just a block away from the stop.
Rowan rolled his eyes, his cheeks flushing lightly. "You're such a dork, Atlas." He watched out the window while they headed towards the school.
"I know, but you can't help loving me for it." He giggled, glancing at Rowan for just a second. Atlas turned out of the neighborhood and onto a bigger road. This was the fastest way to the school.
"I know, I know… you're right." Rowan sighed softly. "I do love you very much. I'd kiss you if I wasn't worried about distracting you from the road."
"Well, there's a reason I take the short way, even if I'm early." Atlas said smiling and looking over at Rowan for a little longer than before. Although it wasn't much more than 2 seconds.
"Yeah, yeah, but still. Gotta keep your eyes on the road no matter how devilishly handsome and charming I am."
"Oh yeah, totally irresistible that I'll crash us into a fence post or something." Atlas giggled, turning onto another road, the school was on this road.
"Of course. You never know what could happen." Rowan snickered a bit and looked back out the window. "Careful not to crash, darling. Gotta look good in our caskets."
"True, true. What's the point of dying if you don't look good while doing so?" Atlas smiled as he pulled into the school parking lot, parking the car in his normal spot.
"My thoughts exactly. I plan to get shot in the heart so that my face stays intact." Rowan got out of the car when it stopped and headed over to the driver's side to open Atlas's door for him.
"Oh but then your chest will be completely destroyed, how about dying of internal bleeding or in your sleep or something?" Atlas proposed, exiting the car with a little nod in thanks. He immediately took Rowan's hand, intertwining his fingers with his boyfriend's. He sighed, a giggle following. "I'm concerned about our conversations sometimes."
"But if I die of natural causes, I'd probably be old, and therefore considerably less hot." Rowan grinned and kissed Atlas's cheek gently. "Don't worry yourself too much. I'm sure it's perfectly normal to talk about how you want to die."
"Yeah, normal for the insane." Atlas still smiled, resting his head on Rowan's shoulder as they walked up to the school. "I guess you're right though. But what about poison? That's all internal and you can still look as perfect as always. Romeo was still hot after he took the poison."
"Mm… maybe. Discoloration, though. Realistically, I'd be kinda gross looking after poison." Rowan laced his fingers with Atlas's and smiled more gently.
"Well, discoloration is inevitable, since you know the blood won't be pumping anymore?" There were already many students at the school, some of the halls already crowded. "But maybe we're just both immortal since we're so picky. We won't have to look good in our caskets because we won't be needing any."
"Mmmm… but sleeping forever sounds so nice, Atlas. I'm exhausted." Rowan laughed softly, leading Atlas through the crowd. "It'd be great."
Eventually, they found their way to a relatively empty area and stopped there. "That does sound pretty nice, not yet though. I haven't been with you long enough." Atlas smiled and turned to kiss Rowan. "There we go, that's the kiss we couldn't have in the car."
Rowan returned the kiss and sighed. "Ugh… fiiiine… I guess I'll stick around a while longer. We gotta get to class, though. You know how pissy Mrs. Davis gets."
Atlas smiled, taking Rowan's hand, out of habit. "Thanks, love. But yeah, let's go." He said looking up at Rowan.
Rowan led the way to their first class, which they had together. He brought Atlas inside and sat beside him.
After what always felt like forever, the class was over and the couple and to part ways. Atlas had band so he had to head to the opposite side of the school.
"See you later, Atlas." Rowan waved and headed off to his own class: math. He hated it, but it wasn't like he had a choice.
Atlas waved and blew a kiss before heading to band with haste. It was always better to be early to that class. He was decently early, like always. He set up his spot and assembled his clarinet.
Math class was slow, as usual, but Rowan got through it. He left when the bell rang and hung out at Atlas's locker to wait for him.
