“You make a fair point.” He smiled and began walking again down the same route he had taken in the morning. “But that means that you don’t want to hang up either, doesn’t it?”
Gay Romeo and Juliet?
"maybe, though you called so it would only be polite if I stayed talking to you until you decided to hang up. Simple code of talking on the phone, duh." He said with a laugh
“Why do you always have to have such perfect answers to everything?” Rowan replied quietly, rolling his eyes with a smile.
"aw are you getting mad? It's a gift that I'm very proud of actually. It's unsettling when someone has an answer to ever question you attack with." He said "so whatcha doin?"
“It’s just unexpected, that’s all. I’m walking home. Oh, and talking to a really nice guy. How about you?” Rowan grinned, walking along the edge of the sidewalk.
"sitting on a windowsill reading and talking to a very cute guy." He said, still smiling
“Oh really? Well, the only problem with this guy I’m talking to is that he hasn’t given me a name yet.”
"ooooh that is a problem. Would you believe it if I told you I'm having the same situation?"
"Well, isn't that interesting." Rowan giggled, "If you had been a bit more observant, you would have noticed that I was wearing a name tag when I served you earlier."
"no one reads those! And if they do, they certainly remember the name afterwards." He argued, "plus I was distracted…"
"Fair point. I am pretty distracting." He laughed, "My name is Rowan. And now you tell me yours, and we're even."
"Rowan, a beautiful name," he said, trying out the name "well, it's very nice to meet you Rowan, I'm Harrow."
Rowan blushed and sat down on a bench, not wanting to get home and stop talking to Harrow. “Nice to meet you too Harrow. A beautiful name as well.”
He blushed and laughed "thanks, so you're a cafe manager or do you just serve?" He asked, grasping anything just to keep talking
“I just serve. I don’t really need the job, but I like meeting people, and it’s something to do.” Rowan told him, leaning back against the bench.
He nodded, "I could never do that, interact with so many people all in one day. I'd have at least twently nervous breakdowns Everytime someone wants a drink." He laughed "mind if I ask a question?"
“You don’t seem that nervous right now though..I guess that’s a good thing.” Rowan glanced up at the dark gray clouds and decided to keep walking. “Of course, ask me anything.”
“You don’t happen to kniw anyone with a red umbrella, do you? I saw them from my window earlier this morning. I’m not trying to be creepy or anything, they just seemed…interesting.” He sighed
Rowan burst out laughing, looking down at his own umbrella. “I guess I walk past your apartment on my way to work.”
"that was you?!" Harrow laughed "I sorta kinda drew you from.my window… I can give you the drawing tomorrow if you'd like."
“Awwe that’s weirdly adorable. I’d love that.” Rowan grinned. “Fate brought us together I guess.”
"more like your umbrella did but yeah I guess fate has a role to play." He smiled "you're still walking?"
"I guess I should be thanking my umbrella instead then," he laughed. "Yeah I'm still walking. It usually doesn't take this long but I'm walking slow."
"why?" He asked curiously "scared to get home or something?"
“No I just want to keep talking to you.” Rowan smiled, swinging his arm at his side.
Harrow bit his lip and blushed "you can still do that at home, can't you?"
“Yeah but my parents have a big charity event thing tomorrow and I have to help them.” He sighed.
"that's cool, who's your family? Must be a bug name if they can afford to host a charity."
“I mean, yeah. I guess it must be pretty big. It’s Lancaster.” Rowan looked up, realizing he was only a couple minutes from his house.
Harrow blinked in surprise "L…Lancaster…." He repeated, surprised to hear the old rival family name
