(Yup! We can skip? Do you want me to start?)
Gay Romeo and Juliet?
(sure!)
"I don't know how you managed to where we're going a secret for this long but since we're on the plane, can you tell me now? Please?" Rowan squeezed Harrow's hand, gazing at him expectantly.
Harrow dropped a heavy blanket over them both and had rested his head on Rowan's shoulder for most of the ride now. He glanced up at his husband's request to tell him the surprise and stubbornly shook his head "You'll find out when we land mon amour. Don't worry." he kissed his jaw and snuggled up closer
Rowan frowned and looked away, pouting like a little kid. "That's too long to wait." He muttered, pressing a kiss to the top of Harrow's head anyway.
"Only two more hours, dear. I promise you, it'll be worth it all." he reassured, shutting his eyes in content before drifting off into a light sleep
Rowan sighed and fell asleep after a couple minutes, his head resting against Harrow's.
Harrow awoke when the pilot came on over the speakers, first in English then in French. He nudged Rowan gently and lifted his head “love we’re here.” He murmured sleepily
Rowan hummed and took a couple minutes before opening his eyes. "France?" He asked excitedly, helping Harrow with his things.
Harrow grinned and nodded, standing up to get their bags from the top compartment. He handed one off to Rowan and took the blanket from the seat
Rowan grinned and took the bag happily, fighting back the urge to kiss Harrow. "This is so perfect, darling. Thank you." He murmured as he leaned over and kissed his cheek, winking as he pulled away.
“You’re welcome love, I’m glad you like it so far.” He arched an eyebrow at the wink and took Rowan’s hand as he led them out of the plane and into the airport. He asked a lady where the chauffeurs would be waiting and thanked her with a nod
"I haven't been here since I was little." He couldn't stop grinning, loving all of the random snippets of French he heard around him. "It's such a beautiful language.."
“It is.” He guided Rowan around the airport to where the lady had instructed the waiting cars would be. He packed everything in the back and climbed in, and told the driver the location
Rowan followed him and moved over so he could be next to Harrow, taking his hand and squeezing it. "Good thing we had an early flight. Hopefully jet lag won't be that bad." He murmured, gazing out the window.
“Hopefully not.” He kissed his hand and gazed out the window as well, a smile spreading as he saw all the places he used to spend as a kid flash by. When they reached the house, harrow helped Rowan out and got all their things from the car.
"Mm..this is beautiful." Rowan hummed, helping him with the bags. "You should've told me sooner, I would have practiced my French." He nudged Harrow's shoulder, thanking the driver.
“My parents used to come here when they wanted a retreat. Since they got divorced, I used to come here to get away from mom.” He opened the door with his keys and set the luggage down near the entrance to be put away later
Rowan didn't know what to say so he just nodded, looking around the house. He turned back around and wrapped his arms around Harrow's waist. "Thank you for this, husband." He giggled, pressing their foreheads together.
Harrow wrapped him in a hug And hook his legs around his own waste. “Of course my love, anything for you my beloved.” He kissed him softly and nudged against him
Rowan grinned and deepened the kiss, holding Harrow close. He pulled away slightly to breath. "What are we doing today?" He asked quietly.
He hummed softly “I was going to take you around to the places I used to go to as a kid but we can stay here if you want and unpack and cuddle. Whichever you want darling.”
"Let's unpack now before we get too tired to later." He suggested, pressing a kiss to Harrow's jaw. "I do want to see where you grew up though. Can we do it tomorrow?"
He hummed softly at the kiss, gently pressing Rowan against a wall so he could easily support his weight. “Of course my love.” He pressed a feather soft kiss to Rowan’s brow and affectionately nudged their heads together
Rowan smiled gently against his lips, pulling away slightly and taking his hand. “I want to see the house!” He said excitedly, pulling Harrow along with him.
Harrow laughed and followed behind “my love, what about the bags?” He glanced back but was too happy to let Rowan lead him around the home. There’s a guest bedroom down here, a kitchen and a living space. Upstairs there’s the master bedroom with a balcony, a bathroom and a small library.”
Rowan turned back to him, his eyes practically sparkling with happiness. "It's perfect." He murmured before going back downstairs. "Now we can get the bags!"
Harrow whipped around with a smile and followed Rowan down the stairs to where he ad left the bags. "I'm glad you like it love." He glanced up as he saw a flicker of light through the small window in the door and smiled. he took Rowan's hand and tugged him away from the bags and back up to the second floor to the master bedroom. He opened the doors to the balcony and stepped outside, watching with a nostalgic smile as fireworks and lanterns filled the night sky, lights from buildings around the area joining the beautiful glow.
Rowan followed him and gazed up at the sky in awe. "Whoa…" He murmured, his hand loosely wrapped around Harrow's. "What's happening?" He asked quietly, resting his other hand on the balcony ledge.
Harrow moved Rowan so that he was in front of him. his head rested on top of his and his arms were securely wrapped around his waist. "They always used to do these near the begging of winter to mark the cold season. Now I guess they do it at the begging of every season." He explained softly, as if any loud noise would disturb the beautiful image
