Finally having his food, Dexter sat down at one of the many food court tables, stomach practically roaring once he took his seat.
Getting There [Closed // one-on-one // Stalkers welcome]
Kaius finished his sandwich and rode all the way to the library
Once he was finished, Dexter let out a shaky sigh and ran his hands through his ebony hair. It was going to be a long, cold night in the treehouse. He should get going, though. Before it gets dark.
Kai parked his bike and headed behind the building, towards the forest
(sorry i wrote something last night but the website had a stroke and deleted it)
Finally reaching the edge of the familiar wood, the sun was already beginning to set. If he was going to make it before dark, he'd better hurry to the semi-warmth of his hand-build treehouse.
(Lmao, that's a mood)
Kai took off his jacket and set it inside a hollowed out tree. Taking a deep breath, he started running.
Dexter had been walking for a while now, and he finally could see the treehouse come into view. Finally.
Kai paused for a minute or two to take a drink of water and to play some music
Jogging the rest of the way, Dexter had become eager with the fading light and cooling air. Climbing the hammered-in planks of wood, Dex pulled a necklace out from under the neckline if his shirt, the end accompanied by a small key. Lifting the key to the generic padlock, he finally lifted the trapdoor. Quickly climbing into his safe space, he closed it back behind him with a clatter. Now standing at his full height, Dex pulled on a metal chain, the room lighting up entirely to reveal the neat area of beanbags and a mini, stained and worn couch, a medium-sized, scraped-up cooler, a short stool sat at a small, knee-level table. There also was a large stack of books next to the couch. Plopping down on the couch and throwing his backpack to the side, the troubled teen let out a sigh of content and rested his eyes as he splayed himself along the couch in a comfortable position.
Kai took out his head phones and and put the volume up all the way. He continued jogging, all the way to the abandoned treehouse he saw a few days ago.
Dexter picked up one of his old, ratty books from the pile closest to him, immediately picking up from where he left off the last time he had been up there.
(poke?)
(Sorry for disappearing, I felt super sick mentally and I may leave again because of it)
(Oh, well I'm sorry to hear it. I've been sick, PHYSICALLY, so I guess it evens out lol)
(Oof lmao)
Kai paused nearby the old treehouse, not noticing that it was occupied. His music was still playing, phones volume full.
being, surprisingly, the fast reader that he was, Dexter had already almost finished the other half of his book in the past twenty minutes, with only two pages left to read before he had to move on to the next. He came about books with either stolen money at a ratty old book store or stealing them from the library.
Kai caught his breath and looked up the treehouse, surprised to see it occupied. He tentatively walked even closer before stopping at the foot of the tree
Although he came by the books by unethical means, he cared about them and kept them hidden and safe in his treehouse. He wasn't nearly as careless with them as many would assume.
(I totally forgot about this)
Kai knocked on the trunk, "Anyone there?"
(Same
Oof i dont remember how to write for him so thisll be rough and definitely diff from his original character)
The dark brown-haired male jumped at the sound of someone else, in this place of all places. "Shit…" He hissed to himself, setting his book aside on the small cushion of the couch. He hesitantly stood up, the sound if creaking under his feet. He sighed before finally calling down, "Yeah?" His voice was a bit distorted from being muffled by the locked hatch, but the word was understable enough.
"Who are you?" Kai asked, leaning against the coarse bark, looking at the closed hatch
Dex furrowed his brows, curiously; uneasily readjusting his stance before calling back, "The dude who owns this damm tree house. You?"
"No shit sherlock, I'm Kai" he said
Dex huffed out a bit of a laugh at the response. "Heh. Well, you got me there." There was a moment where nothing happened. Then, suddenly, "Dex."
"Wait, as in DeX from school?" He asked incredulously
"I don't fucking know, dude. Maybe?" His voice had turned to one.of annoyance. He just hoped that the other boy didn't make a big deal of it, for now. "Anyway, what're you doing alone in the woods, this late?"
"I always go for a run at this time."
His guard dropping and his body relaxing, Dexter allowed himself to plop down onto the floor near the sealed hatch. "Why?" He asked, cheek resting against his fisted hand, which was digging the slightest bit into his knee.
