Name: Sherlock Holmes
Age: 24
Gender/Pronouns: Nonbinary/Genderqueer(?) (if asked would just say "what do you think" and then move on lmao). He/they pronouns preferred but doesn't mind she/her if someone uses them
Orientation: Biromantic demisexual
Appearance: Looks (kind of, the Picrew doesn't quite communicate their looks perfectly, but it's close enough ig). Sherlock is not very tall, at 5'6". Their hair is black, and typically combed neatly to the side. Wears button-ups the vast majority of the time, sometimes full on suits, if they want to look very formal. He has green eyes, and a scar on his left cheek. They are rather slender, in terms of build, with a graceful, slim form.
Personality: Sherlock is quite analytical and logical, and they like to think things through before speaking or taking action, though they are good at reacting quickly if they need to. Good at catching psychological things, and is rather uncannily good at figuring out if someone is lying or not. Has a methodical approach to solving mysteries, though is flexible about it. He knows that mysteries leave evidence, and that's one of the first things they will do, after talking to any witnesses.
Backstory: Sherlock was born to a higher class British family, and was the younger of two children. Their father had undiagnosed PTSD, which caused him to lash out on occasion. His mother was distant, and spent her time smoking or sitting in the garden. Looking back, Sherlock thinks it likely she had depression. Due to this, they were primarily raised by nurses and then governesses, but they still had plenty of free time. It was during this free time that they began to read more and more, finding out as much as they could about everything they could. They learned to read people, learning that if they did this, their father reacted like this. If they did this, their mother finally paid attention. Their first mystery was solved at the age of twelve, when a housemaid stole jewelry. Their second was far more important, as mysteries go, and happened when they were sixteen. The gardener's wife turned up dead, a mile into the forest that was on the family's property. The police couldn't figure out who had done it. Sherlock solved the case. Those were what they consider their "major" childhood cases. They solved of course other mysteries, but those were the two people noticed, especially the murder one. When they were eighteen, they began going out with a boy from the village. When they were caught together, Sherlock was told that either they would never do that again, or to leave. So they moved to the city, and eventually became a part of Scotland Yard, quickly rising to the position of top detective at the age of 21. All of that came crashing down only a year later, when the force discovered that Sherlock had been visiting a Queer bar. Sherlock was brought into the office and told that, while they were an excellent detective and "a decent man", the force could not have "a pervert" on the force, and that he was being let go. In light of their accomplishments, the force did not disclose publicly or on his record the reason for firing him, only that he was being fired. So Sherlock packed up his bags and headed for America.
Other: Plays the violin and occasionally smokes
