What she loved most about being underwater, is the fact that she couldn’t feel her own tears. They blended in with the rest of the salt water.
Swimming up to the shallower water, shoulder deep as she sat down, she sighed to herself
She wanted someone to be there. Someone to cry and talk to. To lean on and hold her. She only knew of one person that could be there. Though he wouldn’t do any of those things.
“Just please come here” she says hoping Zack would hear. He was her guardian demon after all.
Surely…..surely he would care. He had been with her for all of her life. Watching her grow up into the person she is now. Surely he would care
Zack was just about to flop down in his exasperation with being stuck home, when he heard the faintest of whispers in his ears. He heard the rush of waves and the breathing of the ocean, meaning that his Human was somewhere in her favorite place. He got insight from where he was because she had called for him.
So he picked himself back up particularly reluctantly, but when he moved outside, he inhaled deeply with a prickly sense of satisfaction as the perfect beach air washed over him. He wasn’t able to admire the air for very long, for he had a job to do. His thick, velvety black wings emerged from his back, his main mode of transport. Unlike normal Demonic wings, his was an Angelic type, with heavy feathers that seemed to quiver in anticipation for his flight.
Taking off he did, and soon he was down at the beach, where he could anticipate his Human to be. Basically flying was the only thing Zack was good for, excluding killing and getting rid of the evidence, and definitely excluding eating. Eating a lot.
“You called?” He drawled slowly as he landed in the sand, not following her into the water.
