This is a roleplay where I'll be using a character based off of the song "The Nights" by Avicii.

One day my father he told me "Son, don't let it slip away."

Jess's dad was a strange figure, to be sure. He'd been many things in his life and done many things, and the one thing he took from those experiences is that life is too short not to start early. So, ever since Jess was 10 years old, she lived, laughed and loved like noone else.

He took me in his arms, I heard him say, "When you get older, your wild heart will live for younger days; think of me if ever you're afraid."

Then one day, he died. Too soon, Jess thinks. But she keeps going with her life, grieving every day, but following what her dad had told her. But the philosophy, her life, her "joy", were acts. That is, until she meets a special someone.

"He said some day, you'll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember."

Just like that, Jess finds color again. Food tastes better than it has in forever, she's happy again.

"My father told me when I was just a child, these are the nights that never die."

And just like Jess's father said, those were the nights that never die. Because those nights are now every night.

Um. . . well, you'll see. I got the idea from ScotchTapeWorm, lol.

Jess looks down at the slip of paper in her hand, then at her phone.

She texts the number.

"Hey, this is Jess! We met in Paris in 2018, remember? I wanted to check if you were still alive or not. Give me a text back if you'd like."

(Boop)

(Lol, it's fine)

Jess pauses.

"This is the wrong number, isn't it. I'm so sorry."

She sends the text, then pauses.

"Well, since I'm talking to you, I may as well continue. Who are you? I'm Jessamine."

Jess grins to herself and shoots back a text.

"What's the point of life if you don't live at least a little dangerous? I'm not a murderer, just so you know."

She gets up and goes into her bathroom, putting bleach into her hair so she can re-dye it.

(I know that XD I'm saying she puts the proper ammount in- and u just call me "bitch?")

Nikki glances at her phone and laughs.

"This is very true," she texts back once she's put in the bleach.

(Lol, it's true)

Jess sits down on the bathroom floor, one leg straight in front of her, the other directly beneath her.

"So. . . if you'd like me to prove I'm not a murderer, I can give you plenty of evidence."

"Well, for one, I'm able to simply shine a black light over all my clothes – which, by the way, I have not grown out of in ten years – and there would be no traces of blood or anything on them. Another thing is I used to be a pop star. Do you really think I could get away with murder?"

"Oh, I was a star for about a year before I told everyone that I wasn't going to do that anymore. You ever listen to 'Elysium'?"

"Hey, live life like you've never lived before, that's my motto." Jess shoots back.

"Oh, you are way behind the times, dear. Let me see. . ." she sends, then finds the song.

She sends the link to Nikki, then sends an audio file of her singing it right there in her bathroom.

"See? Pop star."

Jess snort-laughs.

"True, true. . . you're just naturally skeptical, aren't you?"

Jess taps out a response.

"And in the first place, why would someone be in Paris that long ago - someone like me, at least - if not to shoot a music video?"

Jess sends a bunch of crying laughing emojis.

"Okay, fair point, but I'm not an assassin or murderer or anything!"
