(Aw… I’m sorry…)

Devon flitted around her apartment, finishing up all the last minute things. She had invited Sebastian over, and her parents were coming over as well. She hoped everything would go well. It would be terrible if it didn’t…

@blue_topaz

(Thanks I guess)
(Shit I can’t do this I’m sorry, give me an hour or so to calm down)

(That’s okay! Take all the time you need! Please, take care of yourself first. That’s all I care about.)

Back sorry that took forever ):

Is it okay if he knocks on the door?

(It’s fine, don’t worry about it!
Yeah, that’s okay.)

@blue_topaz

Sebastian inhaled slowly as he tried to calm his frazzled nerves, his hand balanced on the knocker of Devon’s door. He’d been standing there for a good five minutes, unmoving, and he was afraid that any one of her other guests would come along and see him like this. But try as he might, he could not move the handle. Jesus, Sebastian. Not that hard. Knock, goddammit. He swallowed, hesitating, by footsteps sounded and spurred him into action. Knocking three times, he swallowed, praying that this was the right flat.

G’morning)

(Morning! I hope your day goes well for you today.)

Devon’s head shot up from the counter she was wiping down when she heard the knock. Someone was already here?

Setting her rag down, she wiped her hands off on the gold-trimmed, light pink, floral-printed apron she wore over her flowy red Christmas dress. She made her way over to the door, pasted on a polite smile, and opened it.

When she saw who it was, her smile instantly grew, though she hoped it wasn’t obvious. “Sebastian! Hey, come on in. I was just doing some last-minute cleaning.”

@blue_topaz

(Morning, Thanks
How’re you?)

A faint blush emerged on his cheeks. “Devon, hey! Merry— um— Merry Christmas.” She was wearing a dress- did she always look so pretty in dresses?

(I’m okay. Cramps might kill me, but otherwise I’m fine!)

“Merry Christmas to you, too,” Devon said, stepping out of his way so he could come inside.

He’d stuttered… Why had he stuttered? And was that a blush on his cheeks? He was blushing?

@blue_topaz

(Eek gl)

Snap out of it, he told himself harshly, crossing the threshold into her home. “I, uh, got you something,” he said bashfully, offering her a small, wrapped package. “Merry Christmas.”

Devon blinked in surprise as she took it. “Oh. You— You didn’t have to do that… But thank you… I, um— I actually got you something as well,” she admitted with a small smile. “Let me go grab it. I’ll just be right back.”

@blue_topaz

It was Sebastian's turn to blink– he hadn't expected Devon, or anybody, to actually get him anything, nor would he have minded if he'd gone without gifts. After all, it was what he was used to.

"Oh– thank you. You shouldn't have– but, uh, thanks."

“Of course. Just give me one second,” Devon said softly, disappearing into her bedroom for a moment. She reappeared with a small box wrapped in elegant gold-and-white wrapping paper, the same paper that was on the other gifts sitting under the small tree in a corner of the living room. “Here.”

@blue_topaz

Sebastian took the box gingerly, as if he was afraid it would crumble to dust in his hands. "Thank you so much– I haven't actually gotten any presents in.. years.. this means a lot. Should I– should I wait until Christmas to open it?"

Devon glanced around for a moment, chewing on her lip. “Why don’t we both open them right now? If— If that’s all right with you, of course,” she suggested, fingering the small package she held in her hands.

@blue_topaz

"Yeah sure," he agreed, shyness creeping into his tone. "That sounds good. You go first."

“Okay…” Devon said softly as she glanced down at the gift she held. She carefully pealed the wrapping paper off and opened it, gasping whe she saw the necklace. Her eyes watered, and she blinked them away. “Sebastian… Oh my gosh… This— This is beautiful… Oh my gosh…”

@blue_topaz

Sebastian swallowed, bashfully averting his eyes. "You– you like it?"

group
@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Yeah… Yes… I— Yes. Definitely. I love it,” Devon whispered, her cheeks bright red.

@blue_topaz

Devon was blushing— was that a good sign? His heart certainly seemed to think so. The ridiculous organ had resumed pattering out an irregular, panicky pattern, resulting in a blush that mirrored hers. “Oh thank god. I was scared you’d hate it..”

Devon glanced up at him with a small smile, chuckling a bit. "No, no… I love it. Thank you so much, Sebastian… Could you– Would you… help me put it on?"

@blue_topaz

Sebastian flushed beet red, mouth unable to form words for a moment. A beat passed, and he finally freed his tongue. “Uh— sure. Yeah. Sure.”

group
@Imperfect_Autumn group

"Thank you," Devon whispered softly, handing him the necklace and turning around. She held her hair up and out of the way, her cheeks bright red. Why was she doing this? She could just as easily put it on herself, but… Who knows…

@blue_topaz

Sebastian bit his lip, coming up behind her. He undid the clasp of the necklace, dropping it over her head. His hands brushed the nape of her neck, sending fireworks off in his rib cage as he struggled to close the clasp again.

Devon chewed on her lip as Sebastian tried to close the clasp again. She held back a soft gasp when his fingers brushed her neck, her face beating up even more than it had.
