Devon chuckled a bit at his fish-like gaping. She nodded her head slowly, a light blush appearing in her cheeks. “I would love that. When are you free?”
She said yes. Sebastian’s face was roughly the same hue as a tomato at this point because— she said yes. “I- I’m free tomorrow night. You?”

“Um… I might be able to get a sitter for Layla… If I can, then I believe I’m free,” Devon said, smiling up at him.
Sebastian nodded, grinning ridiculously widely. “Sounds like a plan.”

Devon’s smile widened into a small grin. “Cool. Um… What time, though? And are you picking me up or will we meet somewhere?”
“I… don’t have a car,” he admitted quietly. “I take public transit everywhere. Can’t afford otherwise. So it’s probably a better idea that we meet there— as much as I’d like to pick you up. Does 6:30 work?” He hesitated, a question on the tip of his tongue.

Devon thought for a moment. She would get off of work at four, so that would give her some time to get ready. “That would work. Do you have somewhere in mind that you wanted to go to?”

Sebastian pondered it for a moment. “I- I don’t go out much, is there anywhere you know? There’s a nice steakhouse sort of near here.” Again, he hesitated, before speaking up again. “Just- What are your boundaries? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, or accidentally overstep..”

Devon’s mouth formed a small “o” at his question. No one ever asked her that, they all just assumed she was fine with whatever.
”It has been almost four years, after all,” they would say. ”You should be fine by now.”
“Oh… Well, I don’t really like to be touched, which I’m sure you’ve noticed by now. And… Um, I guess just ask me if something is okay? I’ve gotten a lot better with being touched lately—“ Mostly thanks to you. “but it’s still nice to be asked, you know?”
