Carys winked, her green eyes framed by pink hair. "Sure thing, I'll wrap that up to you. If you could walk up to the counter I'll be there shortly." She then proceeded to collect the camellias she'd grabbed into a bouquet, chucking a couple carnations in as well.
Cat nodded and walked to the counter watching the Carys work. One hand rested on the counter while the other grabbed her wallet out of her bag.
Carys walked to behind the counter, bouquet in hand. She placed it on the counter while she put prices together. "So that just comes to….$25.32."
Cat smiled and handed her $30. “Can I just get the receipt and maybe your number?” She asked smiling nervously as she picked up the flowers.
"Sorry, I don't give my number to people. But you can have your receipt no problem." She gave a smile to the woman, putting through the money and then handing her the receipt.
Cat didn’t push her expression staying the same. “Ok Thank you I’ll hopefully be in here more often so see ya around!”
Carys rolled her eyes as the customer exited the store. She knew that the woman had a crush on her: after all she could tell that kind of stuff. But she wasn't interested in romance. At least, her own romance.
Cat went home and placed the flowers in a vase in her kitchen. She liked the florist and her mind automatically went to plans to get her to like her back but Cat shut em down. She wasn’t lying before. She needed to get flowers again next week and she’ll just be herself.
Carys sighed as the customer walked away. People falling in love with her just happened: it was kind of a given when you're the Goddess of Love. Another customer walked into the store, and she set to work helping them.

Cat came back a week later. She was smiling but it didn’t really meet her eyes. She looked around the shop for a specific flower. The town she used to live in was full of them today but she wasn’t even sure if Carys would sell them.
Carys was currently dealing with a particularly bad customer. "Sir, if you are not going to buy anything please leave. I have other customers to deal with."
"But there's only one other person here."
"Please leave, or I will throw you outside myself."
Cat kept her eye on them. She knew that Carys could probably handle herself but she slowly moved closer anyway.
"Why won't you help me?!"
"I already told you, now please leave my store. Do not make me use physical force on you. If you refuse to leave I will contact the police."
The customer glared and walked out of the store.
Cat walked over to Carys. “He seemed nice,” she commented raising an eyebrow. She leaned on the counter slightly.
"Oh, you're back. To be honest, I didn't think you'd be back. But I should've guessed it. Anyway, what might I be able to help you with?'
“Of course I’m back! I like your shop. Do you have any Mimosa flowers?” She asked smiling softly. She was debating if she should get two bunches. One for herself and one for her mom.
"Unfortunately, Mimosas don't actually grow in this area. It's not right for them and they are hard to ship in. I could maybe interest you in some orchids?"
She thought for a second. Biting her lips but nodding. “Hmm maybe. I’m visiting family and there’s usually flowers there so I should be able to pick them up. But she also liked orchids,” she said sort of lying. Most of her trip was going to be spent avoiding family.
"I don't know who 'she' is, but there is a lot on offer in this shop. I have daffodils, roses, orchids, peonys…even dandelions for the kids."
“Oh yeah sorry she’s my mom. Peonies would be nice,” she said her smile slightly sad. This was the first year that she was ore than an hour away from the cemetery. She didn’t want to drive all the way but there was no way she wasn’t going.
"What colour? I have a whole range." Carys walked over to the wall of peonies. "I have more colours out the back as well."
“I like the light pink peonies,” she said looking at the wall carefully. She had a light pink peonie tattooed to her left wrist.
"I will just warn you: peonies are one of my more expensive flowers. It's because they are specially bred and farmed." In truth, they were bred back in her garden in Olympus. But she wasn't about to tell a mere human who she was.
She shrugged. “I’m fine with that. The flowers I wanted to get are usually expensive so I was prepared to spend a lot. Can I get just a small bundle though?” She asked looking at the flowers. They where gorgeous so definitely worth it. Plus for the first time in her life she really wasn’t worried about money.
Carys nodded. "Yeah, I can do that for you. Just give me a few minutes: I have a couple bunches out back." Carys smiled and then walked to the back of the store, out of view of the customer.
Cat waited for her. fidgeting with her hands slightly as she stood there. She couldn’t help but think about Carys. She seemed really nice and beautiful but Cat wasn’t going to push anymore since it didn’t seem like she was interested.
Even from the back, Carys could feel this woman's love. It wasn't even love: it was infatuation. And yet it was so overpowering. It took everything in her power not to run off and get away from her. She was weak when there was no love, but too much love sometimes had the same affect.
The longer Cat waited the more She thought about Carys. She wasn’t going to push but she definitely planned on doing some light flirting. She shifted slightly were she stood.
