Eve laughed. "I'm sorry, I can't. It's in my blood," she teased.
Rowan huffed, but he stayed put until Eve was finished setting things up. "Can I help with dinner, at least? That shouldn't strain my wrist."

Eve narrowed her eyes slightly. "That depends on what you plan on doing…"
He considered for a moment, trying to think of something Eve would agree to. "I could… make sandwiches? I dunno. Bread is light, I couldn't possibly hurt myself with it."

Eve pursed her lips, but she eventually relented. "Fine. But I'll be watching you." She pointed two fingers at her own eyes, then at him before heading over to the box with the two kittens tripping over each other at her heels.
"Fine, fine. What kind of sandwich do you want?" He asked, heading into the kitchen. He fetched bread and other typical sandwich fillings and turned to await Eve's response.

“Doesn’t matter,” she called back, opening the box from the living area. The kittens both looked up at her and meowed.
